The Walking Dead season 2 and The Wolf Among us Black Screen

Hi there!

I've purchased the season pass for both The Walking Dead Season 2, and The Wolf Among us.

I had already installed the first chapter of each of the two games.

Immediately after having completed the remaining chapters' download, and the updates, I begun playing "The Walking dead season 2" ( chapter 1 ).

Completed the chapter, closed the console.

After having restarted the console both "The Walking Dead", and "The wolf among Us" freeze after the starting screen.

They ask to push "start" to begin, then they start connecting; then the music stops and a black screen shows up. If I wait too much it freezes the whole console.

I reinstalled "The Wolf among Us" but to no avail.

I see there currently is a warning on the xbox live service status, is it the reason?

Otherwise, can you help me ? It is pretty weird that the games are refusing to play, after I have completed a chapter with no issues whatsoever.

I really enjoyed it, although I still think that " The Walking Dead: season 1 and 2 " were WAY better than " The Wolf Among Us ".

I am looking forward for " The Walking Dead: season 3 " and " The Wolf Among Us: season 2 ".

Both The Walking Dead season 1&2 along with The Wolf Among Us will release later this year on next gen consoles.

i have the exact same issue i wanted to dl the season pass for both games and when i dl the season pass the game worked all right but after i restarted the game to take the season pass as downloaded it says connecting and then a black screen and then after
a few seconds the console froze i tried it 3 times on both games and its always the same

i deleted the cache and dl the games again and nothing same results

 

Hey, guys! We were seeing some reports of this yesterday. If you haven't already, can you uninstall and reinstall the games (and if you have, please do it once more for me)? This has resolved most cases, and I want to make sure you guys are all good now.

It seems everything went back to normal, immediately after the xbox live PBF service status came back to full green, as stated into the support page.

No need for further unistalling or cache deletion.

Still weird, because other games were working fine, but at least now it's playable

 

I'm still having this issue with the walking dead season 2 at the moment. It's extremely annoying as the final chapter just came out and I want to finish the game but can't even get the damn thing to start.

I'm no longer willing to go through the clear cache/delete the game rubbish unless there is an absolute guarantee that it will fix it, because clearing the cache will result in a whole lot of gigabytes of game updates wanting to be downloaded all over again
every time I start a game up.

 

Hey, shadow walkerOZ! No need to clear the cache, but you should delete and download the game. Everyone that we've asked to do that since my last post, if it didn't just start working for them like it did for SarDark, has been resolved by doing this.

 

I'll give it a try, but for the last few days, nothing has downloaded correctly on my 360. I've been trying to download Dishonored for close to a week now and so leave it to download overnight, but when I get up in the morning, it's not in my download queue
anymore and it's not installed on my hard drive. I am trying again for the 4th time right now. So you can probably see why I'm not too keen to go through the normal delete and reinstall process, because I might not be able to install it again.

Nothing on either my xbox or my network has changed and my xbox one works just fine.

The 360 still downloads and installs updates, just not marketplace content.

 

Well that pretty much turned out the way I thought it might. I deleted the game and started the download again and it's been sitting on 0% for 10 or 15 minutes now. It's only 839.65MB, so it should have at least moved a little bit (or even finished completely).
Is this related to some kind of service outage or something? If so, then I won't bother until everything is fixed and working properly because it's kinda annoying when I keep waking up thinking I can finally play Dishonored and find that I have to go and download
it all over again. Now it's going to be the same thing over again with the walking dead.

 

Thanks for the response, shadow! There isn't any known service outages that I'm aware of anywhere right now. It sounds like it might be a connection issue. Are you seeing issues with downloading anything else or streaming?

 

No everything else works just fine. Laptops, smart phones, PS3 and xbox one all have no problems. It's just the 360 and it only started on maybe friday when I tried to download dishonored for the first time.

 

Well, it's been a few days and nothing has improved so I guess it's time to get rid of the 360 and move on. No point having it if it's not going to work properly.

That PS3 that's been gathering dust is starting to look better every day.

 

Thanks, shadow! I meant any issues with the 360 specifically, but it's good to know that you have a One console as well. Can you post back your router information for me? Not all routers can handle more than one Xbox console properly, and I want to make
sure we have things set up to get that 360 working!

 

Yeah, the 360 will no longer download anything at all from the marketplace. It downloads game updates just fine and now when I try to go to the marketplace, it just brings up an error saying that some xbox live content is unavailable at the moment.

As for my router, it a Netgear DGN2200v4 which has never had a problem with multiple consoles on it before. I actually have Cisco networking accreditation so I'm fairly good with networking issues. As far as I can tell, there's nothing on my end that should
be causing any problems. Although it did all start after I got my Xbox One. I've even tried disconnecting the Xbone from the network as well with no luck.

As I'm typing this, I'm saving some of my game saves to the cloud (which is working as well) and am going to wipe it and start again.
