The virtual keyboard of my Xbox one x console is not responding, I cannot select any letter...

I'm sorry you are experiencing issues with your console.

Would you mind giving this a try?

- Press and hold your controller's Xbox button until it shuts down.
- Remove your controller's batteries and USB cable (if applicable).
- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.
- Remove all external devices from the console's USB ports, and leave them like that.
- Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes.
- Plug the power cord back in. Please make sure to use one of the wall's outlets.
- Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

If that doesn't work, could you tell me if your controller's buttons and/or sticks work correctly when navigating the console's dashboard or settings menu?

I'll give this a try. I live in a different time zone and right now I have a power outage. I'll be able to give a feedback much later on today. Many thanks for the quick response.

I also notice some glitches when I'm navigating through menus where the selection skips options and it can be hard to land on the option I actually want. I've also noticed that when selecting text on the virtual keyboard for passwords or chat that after I make the first letter selection, the curser then continues to jump to the upper left hand corner and it's impossible to get to any letters on the lower portion of the keyboard. The only way to avoid this is to select a number first to avoid it providing autofill text options and then the curser works to continue to select any letters I want.

The Xbox Adaptive controller will only press the letters 'A', 'B', 'X' and 'Y' as they are the Xbox controller letters.

I am not aware of any way to remap the letters so that they are 'S', 'Z', 'D' and 'Q'. Keeping in mind that they are the Nintendo Switch buttons.

I will try to do my best to explain the lettered buttons.

They are not like the letters on the keyboard, they are just labelled with those letters as way of us humans easily understanding which button relates to which in game action. they are simply a form of input for the game console.

Also in all the pictures I have looked at of the Switch it shows that the lettered buttons are A, B, X and Y the same as the Xbox controller.

Update!...Figured it out, the controller needed new batteries. Duh!
