    The Update that won't Update


    I Own an Xbox One, I bought it in January of 2017, I have used it about 2 times from then till now.

    I have tried power cycling, a different network, different power outlets yet nothing is seeming to work. I believe my power brick is fine because it is brand new. The error code: 0x8B050066 keeps coming up when I go to the update section of the Settings.
    Also, whenever I try to test the internet connection by coming online, the "It''s Time to Update" window appears so I cannot even try to test the connection. Everything I've seen online has been no help whatsoever. Power cycling does not work, nor does using
    another network. The update always stops at 64% and then says that the update has been completed. It says also that the console will restart, but then after about 30 minutes of waiting I unplugged the console and tried it over.

    After about 7 attempts and 4 hours of my time, it still does not work. Whenever the update says its about to restart, the console itself just completely shuts off and the power brick is still lit up as if it's turned on.

    I then put the Xbox One into Factory Settings mode through the Troubleshoot Mode. I thought that might get rid of any problems. Yet it still said the download was complete at 64% and then would not restart. I am livid and don't know what to do. I do not
    own a PC so I cannot download the Offline Download component. PLEASE HELP!

    Won't Update !

    I fixes it! I had to instill the game (not my saved Data thankfully) and reinstall it! As soon as I turned it on it said it again but then went into the game finally! Hope this works for you as well. I guess a ton of us that were playing when the update
    came through had the same problem!

    Won't Update !

    It started doing it to me today too, I Tried the same thing..hope someone has an answer and fix. The last time I played was this morning and it dropped me from a game. When I tried playing later It started the update restart loop.. My other multiplayer games
    work fine.

    Is your internet connection to xbox via wifi or wired?

    Try cable internet straight from your modem.

    These things happen sometimes. Have you tried resetting the console?

    Try the soft reset first which is “Reset and keep my games & apps“ and see if that helps fix the issue for you.

    This does not work for me I still have the issue mine sometime wount turn on and sit on the trouble **** screen
