The Surge, start screen

alright so i bought “The Surge” yesterday and when i go to start it up, i get a black screen but i can still hear sounds as it shows the developers and tech used. then it gets to the start screen and there are two problems that i can see.

1. It is not adjusted right on my screen so i have a L shape of nothing on my bottom and right side of my tv, a good chunk of it too and i play on a 65 tv.

2. There is no start button that i see, all i can really see is moving data that’s in the very middle, but as far as i can tell the left side is black with no “new game”, “continue” or “options”.

I have tried to find other discussions about this or if anyone else has had this problem but i can’t find anything, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling about 6 times at this point and i even looked up what the options looked like on a video to see if there
was a adjust screen size, there wasn’t, at this point I’m at the point where I’m about to give up and try to get my money back for this if it can’t be fixed.

My Fable III Industrial Knight DLC is not working properly.

I did start a new game recently (Because my old save was corrupted by a power surge while on a loading screen) and it hasn't shown up in the sanctuary.

 

Strange power-on issue

I'd been having all sorts of troubles with instant on mode, it used to switch on and either get to the dash and nevet finish loading properly or load properly, but when I tried to start a game or app, it'd go to the startup screen for the game, but never actually start up the game.

This has been going on since mid-November when I added a second harddrive.

I've read about the whole surge-protector thing but pretty much dismissed it, not seeing how that could possibly be making any difference.

Last Thursday, I decided to unplug it from the surge protector and plug it back in to a normal non-surge power strip extension.

Instant on has worked perfectly ever since. Could be a coincidence, but bearing in mind that 9 times out of 10 before, I found myself switching it on, it not loading properly and doing a hard reset and it's not done it once since I changed it over.

It might be worth the OP swapping the surge-protector. Even if you only have one socket in your room, can you not swap the surge for another multi-plug thing without surge protection?

Make sure that all updates are installed (also for the console). Try to clear the cache from the console with the

power cycle and try again.

 

did you find a solution I just bought this. I thought it was the copy and returned it to Gamestop for another copy. But it's still doing the same. If you find a solution let me know

 

so I power cycle, then installed the game without the update. The game loaded perfectly fine. Then I downloaded the update and now it's back to square one.
