    The State of Xbox

What happened? This company used to be great. Now there's no new exclusive or original content thats made any sort of impact on the gaming community. You guys are so money hungry, but don't wanna fight for your supper. But, i guess its just so sad now, Your
console is nothing compared to PS4, You're behind in the VR department, you're customer support is awful and it takes 4 TIMES AS LONG TO UPDATE GAMES AS ON PC, The processors used in the 1 arn't anything compared to whats on the market. Its just so sad what
    you've become

    :)

  2. The sad state of State Of Decay 2

I recently purchased an XBox One X and have had no problems with it so far. However, I bought State of Decay 2 from my local Argos, and have had trouble with the game not installing/disc loading. All my other games work fine, but not this one for some reason.
I went back to Argos the next day and received a replacement disc.

The same thing happened. I loaded the disc, and it sounded like the console was trying to read it, but no luck. The game would not install.

Has anyone else had this, or similar problems?

    State of the Game

0% of me has 2.0 im only .93 lol just being honest. But I'm rapidly rising from .73 so ya. It was a nice learning curve from the usual and none of my mates wanted to play BF they all "stuck" with that other game. Just found out yesterday I really like
the AK with the assault class, on TDM. And I'm trying to get more evasive with the jets so I can really put the rocketpods to use. I run mostly recon and a lot of mav with it. I just unlocked mortars for support and wish other people would consider running
MAV when they hear the shells falling, I also noticed you can launch lots of smoke grenades with the mortar - very cool.

  4. The State of Xbox

Personally I don't care about exclusive content. It's fine by me if all games on all platforms.

Otherwise I am with you what you say - something strange happend since 360 which is excellent in every way.

Apps are horrible in every way, and I never had free PC software in such a bad shape at any time - just horribly buggy.

X1 is nice looking store though, and good with update on games without having to start them.

Xbox support has been quite good, the chat thing - very determined people trying to help.

MS has the knowhow to make good BC on PC, and good OS in Windows - apart from Windows 10 that never be on any machine that I have.

But will the same knowhow be transferred onto Scorpio - I wonder?

Will we have to download games in full again - like BC to 360->X1?

I hope MS will show off like never before on Scorpio, or I'm gone over to Playstation and gaming with controller on usb cable, since you need to charge constantly.

  5. A few years back a 'rumor' was circulated that MS entertained an offer to sell its xbox division to, if I remember right. Google.

If true, and x amount was all you could get. Why invest more into it? Why not simply do only what needs doing and milk the rest for all its worth?

  6. That would explain a lot and sounds plausible.

What I saw in X1 made me think they focked the crew for 360, probably really highly qualified devs and employed cheap rookies instead.

Thinking about interface in X1 and some really strange choices made, quality of the apps that feel like beginner programmer made and also this forum that was unusable for three months after launch.

I mean MS has really fine development tools and making an OS is not picknick and high quality stuff all over. And Xbox is really reduced in quality and effort, is my feeling of it all.

OK, just to comment on your little "rant"

1: No new exclusives or original content:

The reason why we know very little of what is coming this year is because the last major game event was E3, where Microsoft announced load of games, and obviously the Xbox One S and the Scorpio. Since then though Sony had their Sony Expo (or what its called),
I'm not saying Microsoft is going to show of loads of exclusives at this years E3, but it wouldn't surprise me.

2: You guys are so money hungry

They are a COMPANY, all COMPANIES care about profit, if they didn't they wouldn't last very long. You may like to think that Sony is a snuggly soft company that cares about you, the user, but it doesn't. The only time any COMPANY cares about the user is
when the user jumps ship to a competitor or they start complaining in droves (like they did when Sony got hacked)

3: your console is nothing compared to the PS4

You may not like to hear this, but they are both based off THE SAME CPU/GPU. most multiplatform games these days look virtually identical and its only Digital Foundry that shows there are slight differences. And the only way they can do that is by using
a computer to count the frames and zooming in to shows of slight graphical differences. During game play you cant tell the difference (which has been proven)

4: Your behind in the VR department

Good, VR looks like its going the way of motion control, 3D and VR before it, IE a gimmick

5: It takes 4 times as long to update games as on PC

That's because on PC, nobody checks the patch doesn't mess with the game/system, both Microsoft and Sony check the updates/patches to make sure they don't brick consoles, that's why it takes longer. but if you want a patch that potentially bricks your console
    then ask Microsoft for it.

6: The processor in the 1 aren't anything compared to what's on the market.

Two reasons for this, one is that the Xbox One is now nearly FOUR YEARS OLD, the second is that both Microsoft and Sony wanted APU's (look it up) that wouldn't overheat and cause huge costly problems like they had with the previous generation.

Seriously dude, before you go on a little rant complaining about a product, do a little research and you'll learn why thing happen.

MS quickly realized that the X1 was failing miserably, so they've practically abandoned it and went back to the drawing board. It seems like they're learning from their mistakes though so hopefully Scorpio will actually live up to the hype.

  9. I'm sure MS's BOD etc agree's with your premis, but not me, as I happen to think its the game sales for both consoles thats failing. This gen, with very few exceptions, their just isn't any games with replayability. And the consumer, after forking over 60
    - 120 + Bucks Per pop, are realizing it 1st hand. Then take into consideration even last gen games and dlc still at or around FULL release price, and its no wonder why current gen owners only visit 'the store' looking for apps as opposed to games.

  10. In my own personal view - too much MMO maybe is the cause of that - that also require expensive subscriptions, like GOLD, and stuff.

If devs of games made all effort to make games replayable, offline, and single player or local teams or something.

Extensive difficulty levels or what might be needed.

For me they incorporate two many things into GOLD - I am not interested in free games. I am very particular which games I like, and this is worth zero, zilch and nothing to me. Everything just about I saw are children games. And some games are very linear
in story and some very wide in how you can choose path to play - and it might be a personality thing, but games that are linear I play longer. I spent much more time in Uncharted 2 than Just Cause 2 on PS3 when having that - probably also because it's such
an excellent variety of challenges in UC2 along the way how to solve the situation you are in.

    So split subscription into levels:

    a) multiplayer online - for maybe $15-20 annually - or $2 monthly as needed, most part of year for me there is not much gaming anyway.

    b) monthly free games and free gaming or whatever they call it - full fee $15-20 this part, and the monthly thing too at $2.

But I'm a very casual gamer - and play maybe a couple of evenings every couple of months or so. And each time a different game almost, and nothing played all the way through. Just what I feel like a particular day - so have dozens of games for 360, but just
8 on X1 so far not knowing where this is going with Scorpio if I can play them there as is or need to download and no go for me.

So gaming is just like watching tv-series on DVD for me - serve the same purpose. Very rare that one series is worth looking every episode through a full season, I want variety.

So gaming is entertainment for me - not an interest per se - one of many. Feel to me more involved I put a game on, otherwise feeling lazy a DVD and watch something.

But I wasn't brought up with video games - so might be different than most part of gamers, if even to call me that. First console was PS3 2010, and now retired, so.

But gaming is one thing and an experience that I am willing to pay for. If Scorpio is below $800 and really well made as OS not cluttered with too many WannaBeMediaCenter things, and really well thought out BC being able to play without another major download
    - I'll buy Scorpio and continue buy games for X1 and Scorpio. If GOLD subscriptions are divided into part for MO and take part in online events like for racing - I will subscribe as well.
