The state of the xbox one games drought

I have to many games to play. Perhaps you just haven't bought any?

The drought is over....!

At first, I thought OP lived by me or was stalking me. We actually had quite a bit of rain last night, we've had one of the driest years on record over here in Cali.

Now as far as a "game drought" OP, just because you don't like a type of genre or two, doesn't mean there's a game drought, except for you.

It'd be like somewhere claiming to have a drought because they don't like the shape of their rain droplets..

So, I don't understand why it is bad to say there was a drought on the Xbox One. I love mine, but I do think that only 3 games being released in over 2 months (all 3 download only, btw) could be considered a drought. Now, that says nothing about the quality
of the games released in those 2 months, or anything at all about the ones released before that, just says there wasn't a big quantity of games released.

 

The fall is the only really heavy release season, and this is the first one since launch. That's why there are at least a dozen massive games on the slate.

Personally, I just picked a console up, and found a deal at Target for Xbox One games at $20 each. Dead Rising 2, Ryse, Battlefield 4, and Forza 5. From my perspective, there are lots of games to play

 

i do say so, you're implying that it is not viable to develop for the X1, but i have not seen any news suggesting development is being dropped, and while i'm not planted in PS community, it currently seems that the X1 has more AAA titles in development right
now than PS.

and that video was someones opinion about why BF:Hardline was delayed, bottom line being that it wasn't a good enough game to compete with other popular FPS titles releasing in the same window.

so, unless i have misunderstood your post (totally possible), then i stand by my first statement about your post.

 

I agree. Watch dogs is kinda fun, Forza once in a while, Powerstar Golf, and NBA 2K is fun. All the other games are pretty much glitched or just not fun at all. Titanfall easily the biggest letdown I've ever experienced.

yes, Ryse was a game that i enjoyed, but still received mediocre reviews, mostly for being repetitive.

either way, i'm not concerned, both consoles have games in coming that have a lot of people excited, the X1 is still in a much better position than the PS3 was last gen and that turned out fine

 

15 Ps only games I don't know where your pulling them games from.

I went to GS, and asked. "Can you give me the list of upcoming games list for both the X1, and the P4?" It took them all of about a minute to do so.

You then take those two (count them 2) complete printouts home, and with a highlighter highlight the games upcoming for P4 vs the X1. Now count them? 15 for P4 and 5 for X1 - And one game for the X1 is a mix of old 8gb, and xbox 360 games remastered and
rolled into one. Thus I was being generous to the X1 by a factor of 0ne (1) So if you take that away and do the math what do you have left? That's right 4 Xbox one exclusive games upcoming between 2014, and 2015
thus far.

Where it matters most is to MS who should be out drumming up more exclusive games for it's system. But as I said just weeks ago. It's entertaining offers to purchase the Xbox side of MS instead.

I think we are all getting desperate for new games....but really all you need to do is understand how this works. This is the down time of year for games. Most games come out right before christmas. It just makes sense for companies that want to sell
their product. We are also less than a year from the initial launch. Why would they be flooding the market with games when their is a smaller clientele? I imagine the upcoming months will really kickstart everything.

 

Still focusing too much on the numbers, i have only spoken about my opinions and my experiences with Xbox and more than willing to have an open discussion about the pluses and minuses of the X1, and typically advise gamers to follow the console that has
the games they want to play.

i am following the games, for me as far as exclusives go, Sony is offering almost nothing that excites me, FF:realm reborn and The Order (which is looking less exciting the more i see of it), so there is no way for you win this argument, looking forward,
Xbox has a mountain of games(5) that excite me more than what the PS4(15) has.

Max: CotB, Peggle 2

Titanfall, Super Time Force, PvZ*

Sunset Overdrive, Halo, Forza Horizon

Ori:BF, D4, Below, Project Spark

All games playable on XB1 & not on PS4.

If you can make me a list bigger than that with games that are only on PS4, let me see it & weep.

All those games are spread out across Year ONE, with plenty of fun multiplatform games in between.

 

All I have to say is that if I sold my Xbox 360, I wouldn't have been very happy as I have played everything I currently want to on the Xbox One.

It's actually suited me quite well though because I can catch up on the games I missed on the 360 in these periods and then back to the X1 when a new game comes around.
