The state of Summer of Arcade 2014

Personally, I'm concerned about any potential lineup MS may have for this years SoA. I know there are a lot of great games coming to the XB1 as "Arcade" titles, but many are still TBA as far as releases dates, many of which seem to be slipping farther
and farther back on the calendar. While I look forward to the event and will welcome any games that make the list, I fear this years SoA will be a weak affair. Thoughts on the matter as well as what you'd like to see make it into the Summer of Arcade?

Summer Spotlight vs. Summer of Arcade

I loved Summer of Arcade. It made me look at games that I may not have tried otherwise. Summer Spotlight is said to envelop the "spirit" of Summer of Arcade while involving all types of games, not just arcade games. I miss Summer of Arcade and I don't see
why they couldn't do both. Summer of Arcade seemed to take place when summer was nearly over. Summer Spotlight could (and should) happen much earlier, leaving time to also have Summer of Arcade. My fear is that Summer Spotlight wont actually involve good deals
on games, but instead just consist of MS marketing games to us at full price. Which would you rather have? One or the other or both?

 

I think it will transfrom into summer of ID@XBOX. Because it end of XB360.

 

Bring on the Xbox One summer of games!! Time to move on from the 360.

 

Will they even do a SoA on 360? Never heard a confirmation let alone mention.

I enjoyed every SOA but last years I don't recall being great for me, maybe it was too much hype for GTA & new consoles for me.

As for a schedule for XB1 releases, I'd like to see it happen, especially because I don't know when I'll get D4, Ori or Below. However, all those releases that just popped up out of nowhere, I hope they keep that up. Just release the damn games when they
are ready.

 

I would love to see No Mans Sky, Below, or Hell Raid.

Minecraft Xbox One Edition is pretty much guaranteed.

 

Magic 2015 Duels of the Planeswalkers is slated as a summer release - just no exact date yet...

 

I'm not looking after it but there is Minecraft coming this august....With all Minecraft fans around here,i don't see why release other indies games...

 

Why release indie games Tzar? Because its my kind of trouble. (I get the feeling of regretting that comment)

That's what's disappointing... Summer of Arcade allowed for us to have something to look foward to each summer. In terms of actual games, we haven't had much at all this year, IMO...
