Please help. Wont let me connect to xbox live

I got online this morning, and started down loading the madden 12 demo. Middle of downloading, it stopped and kicked me offline. Its not our internet conection because our computer is able to connect online. Also I have a gold memembership which dosent expire
till 11-20-11, so cant be that. Please help!!!!

Exceedingly Ticked Off - Xbox Live combining my offline profile with online without warning

Wow, you really don't know how to read.

1. No where does microsoft tell you that your offline profile will join xbox live. NO WHERE! The fact you keep repeating "but that's what it does" doesn't actually change the fact that NO WHERE DOES IT GIVE YOU ANY KIND OF WARNING THAT THIS IS WHAT IT
DOES! DO YOU GET THAT? YES OR NO!?

2. Asking me for a LOGIN and PASSWORD is NOT EQUAL TO INFORMING PEOPLE THAT THEIR OFFLINE ACCOUNT IS GOING TO BE PROMOTED WITHOUT PERMISSION. ASKING for LOGIN and PASSWORD is asking for LOGIN AND PASSWORD of an ONLINE account. NO SYSTEM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD
outside of XBOX LIVE actually AUTOMATICALLY PROMOTES an OFFLINE ACCOUNT to ONLINE just from ASKING you for your Login and Password. NO SYSTEM OUTSIDE OF XBOX DOES THAT.

3. I've NEVER seen any company merge offline and online in such a sneaky manner. You've also completely ignored the core concept of my complaint being that my offline games NOW have to use my Online Handle. I like my offline handles. I like changing my
offline handles for my offline games. I should NEVER EVER be forced to use my ONLINE HANDLE because some totalitarian ruler from Xbox Live decides that ALL MY OFFLINE CONTENT BELONG TO LIVE.

The fact you're trying to use that as a JUSTIFICATION for XBOX's actions really comes across as you not knowing what the hell you're talking about or as an attempt to troll me while acting like a shill for Microsoft.

Is it possible to use the Xbox One offline without ever connecting it to Microsoft servers?

My fear is that after the servers have been shut down if the system has to be returned to default settings to fix a problem then it will become unusable. It is my understanding that there are no offline profiles so even if the system is fully updated you
can't use it without connecting to Microsoft servers to retrieve your online profile or create a new one.

There's a singleplayer, but you cant play GTA V Online in an offline mode as it connects to the rockstar servers

2K is having issues with there servers cuzz the idiots decided make all there traditional offline modes like my gm and myplayer online so if you cant connect to the severs you cant even play offline lol game has so many problems right now cant wait for another
patch!

I'm experiencing this issue now. I am unable to sign in even though it shows I'm connected, a workaround was to sign in offline mode then switch back to online, but it kicks me out of my Xbox profile.
