    I have Realtek High Definition Audio and this is the only device enabled and set as default. Same for both Speakers and Microphone. I use a standard analog headset and microphone plugged into the inputs on my tower. All other games and voip apps work
    perfectly. When I open this XBOX App and start a party I get the following error.

    "The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported" - Mic already enabled in Privacy Settings [​IMG]

    I have tried changing the sample rates in audio settings, rebooting, updating drivers, rebooting, and even reinstalling the XBOX APP via PowerShell. If go to Settings, Privacy, Microphone the XBOX app is already enabled. If I turn this off I get a different
    error saying my Privacy settings are blocking my microphone. I enable XBOX app and it goes back to the above image. "The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported"

    All procedures and advice followed by all searchable google content and Microsoft support forums have not resolved my problem. I noticed this as I was trying to play Sea of Thieves with some friends. Again all other applications work fine.

    What else can cause this error?

    Same, I've changed it to all sample rate options and none of them work.

    It looks like the components of your app have something to do with the error message that you are getting. Here is a link on how to troubleshoot audio in
    parties and issues with multiplayer games on Windows 10.

    Unfortunately this is one of the guides I have already been through. I have no problem with NAT or my firewall as you can see in the test below.

    The guide that you provided goes into:

    Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status

    Solution 2: Check your NAT type

    My NAT type is Open and according to that guide I should be having a problem.

    This is the headset I am using plain analog and plugged into the analog ports on my motherboard.

    My NAT type is Open and according to that guide I should NOT be having a problem.

    Editing was disabled and I was unable to correct my mistake.

    NO WHERE DID I SAY MY PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED OR THAT I WAS RUNNING SMOOTHLY!?!?!

    Please read my posts thoroughly before answering thanks. You did not assist me at all.

    Thank you for your reply. We are sorry for the misunderstanding, let us manually uninstall and reinstall your Xbox app. Here are the steps below:



    1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.



    2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.



    3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage



    4. Hit Enter.





    Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.

    Thank you very much for the reply, lets gets started.

    I opened powershell elevated by selecting run as administrator

    I ran the command "Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage" and noticed that my Xbox App icon had disappeared from the start menu. I rebooted my computer and then opened the microsoft store. Indeed the Xbox app had uninstalled because there was
    a GET button instead of a Launch button. I clicked GET and the Xbox app downloaded. I clicked launch and loaded up the app and started a chat party but the problem has not been resolved.

    I still get the same error "The Sample Rate for your microphone is not supported"

    In my previous posts I left my hardware information (onboard sound device and headset) so that you know what I am using.

    What sample rate does this app require? It doesn't matter which sample rate I try I always get the same error.

    Thank you for responding. Let us perform a hardware update on your system by following the steps below:

    Method 1: Installing drivers through Windows update.

    Launch it from Start > Settings > Update and Recovery and click Check for Updates.

    or

    1. Press Windows key + R.

    2. Type: ms-settings:windowsupdate.

    3. Hit Enter.

    Method 2: Install drivers using Device Manager.

    1. Press Windows key + X

    2. Click Device Manager

    Method 3: Using Program Troubleshoot Compatibility

    1. The first thing you need to do is point where the setup files are located. If you are installing from a thumb drive or CD/DVD. Launch File Explorer (Windows key + E) and open the location where the setup files are stored.

    Right click the setup file for the program, this can be designated as setup.exe or something similar. Click Troubleshoot Compatibility.



    2. This will launch the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter wizard which will check for issues.

    3. Select the option “Troubleshoot program”

    4. Select a version of Windows the program is known to work in. I notice the program works great in Windows Vista (with Service Pack 2), so I will select that option. Click Next.

    5. Proceed to run the through the programs setup routine by clicking Test the program.

    6. Follow the on screen instructions to install the program as you normally would.

    7. If all is successful, click the option at the end of the wizard ‘Yes, save these settings for this program’

    8. Wait while your settings for the program are saved.

    If issue still persists, we could disable your built in microphone on a laptop:

    1. Go into the control panel, into the hardware section, and click on sound.





    2. Find your microphone, right click, and select disable.

    3. Check your Xbox app if Microphone is set to Default device.

    Thanks for the help so far but I am still getting the same error.

    I tried everything on your list many of which I have tried already. The troubleshooter does not detect any issues and therefore cannot fix my problem.
    This is a mid tower desktop PC, NOT a laptop so that part I could not perform.

    Please read this carefully!

    The XBOX APP is the ONLY application that cannot utilize the microphone.
    Everything else works about the XBOX App except for the microphone in party chat.

    I can use the microphone in team speak, discord, and in-game chat on CS:GO, OverWatch, all without any issues! I can use the microphone on Skype and every other VOIP application I have without a problem!

    Once again, XBOX App is the only application having an issue with my microphone and this only happens with XBOX App in party chat.

    When I start a new party or join a party I have tried both, I get the following error and cannot use the microphone.

    I really think that there is a bug with the application regarding my Realtek sound chipset . Realtek® ALC1150 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC

    I just disabled my onboard sound, hooked up a usb webcam with microphone. I tried setting that device as default and when I opened XBOX App is still says The sample rate isnt supported even with a different device. The APP has a setting somewhere that
    is not being removed while uninstalling. The command in Power Shell does it also clean out registry entries?

    Thank you for updating us. The Power Shell command will not clean out the registry entries, we would suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the device for more in-depth troubleshooting regarding supportd sample rate of your microphone.

    I am sorry but I disagree. There is a problem with the Xbox App. I have tried 3 different sound devices and 2 different microphones! I get the same error with all of them, even though I can name 8 other applications that can utilize the microphone with
    no problems while this Xbox App will not work.

    I am not going to contact the manufacturer with a tech problem when 8 other applications work with no error, windows troubleshooter sees no error, while only one application "XBOX App" does not work.

    Are you clicking on "See More" and reading all of my posts? It really seems like you are not understanding the troubleshooting information I am providing back.
