"The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported" error, no matter what sample rate I use

I have been fighting with the Windows 10 Xbox App for days, just trying to get party chat to work. At first it was NAT type issues, and today I was delighted to finally sort that out. But I've hit another roadblock and I simply can't get around this one
by myself.

When I join a party, the Xbox App states that "the sample rate for your microphone isn't supported."



I have clicked the "Show me how to fix it" link and followed the instructions there. I have tried every sample rate my microphone has available, but the problem persists.



I have tried two different headsets

I have tried using the audio ports on the front of my case

I have tried using the audio ports directly on the motherboard

I have tried using the USB adapter for my headset, in at least 6 different USB ports, both on the case and motherboard

I have tried updating audio drivers

I have tried updating the firmware for my headset

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing audio drivers

When I am using the USB adapter, I cannot hear any audio from the Party Chat, and the error displays for my microphone

When I am using the audio ports on the front of my case, I am able to hear audio in the Party Chat, but the error displays for the microphone.

My microphone works fine in all other games and programs.

I have tried using my wife's headset, which works fine on her computer, and I have the same errors. She has tried using my headset on her computer, and it works fine on hers. So the issue is something to do with my settings or drivers, rather than with the
headset.

A list of specs and such follows. I have no idea what might be needed to help me troubleshoot this, so feel free to ask for any other info!

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

Xbox App Version: 33.33.15001.00000

Headset: Corsair Void Pro Surround with Dolby Heaphone 7.1 PC USB adapter

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty H97 Performance

BIOS: Ver 04.06.05

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

I would massively appreciate any and all help anyone can provide to resolve this issue. I am at my wit's end.

"The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported" <--- The error i get no matter which device I use or connect to my PC.

 

The sample rate of you microphone isn't supported...

THIS IS NOW RESOLVED

I had checked that in the Privacy settings, "Let apps use my microphone" was enabled

However, it was specifically disabled for Xbox

I feel very silly.
