Rise of the Tomb Raider only starts with DLC installed, if console is switched offline.

I just checked Killer Instinct (with some DLC) on the external ssd and it worked without problems so...

the problem seems to be linked to external(?) ssds and Rise of the Tomb Raider DLCs.

 

You don`t NEED to buy anything.

I don`t think i have ever bought anything from the marketplace, that wasn`t reduced in price.

I will never buy a season pass and tend to ignore games that have them.

Depending on the DLC and the game. For anything expanding the single player story I generally will purchase it.

 

I have purchased DLCs and have had no problem with them unless they happened to be way too short (For Example: That Harley Quinn DLC for Batman Arkham City being way too short).

The only season passes I would ever purchase would be for a TellTale game because I like having all of the games right when they come out. Plus it's $5 cheaper then spending $5 per episode. Or you could wait for episodes to lower in prices from time to time
and some releasing for free at later points.

But yeah, we don't need to buy DLC and I rarely bother to buy DLC for most newer games anyways.

 

I see no fall in DLC at the moment and that's part of the issue. It's only increasing now and becoming more expensive. I will admit I have bought my fair share of season passes, but I've mostly certainly stopped buying before I know what's in them because
I've been burned on a few occasions.

Though sometimes a game like Sunset Overdrive comes out and I don't even care what comes in the season pass because I just want any excuse to keep playing the game.

 

Yeh, that Harley quinn dlc was the first and only i paid full price for, and 2 hours later regretted it

 

There are some games I HAVE to have the dlc for. But I no longer will buy season passes. I learned that when I bought one for Bioshock Infinite and found the dlc to be really disappointing and I never would have purchased the multiplayer dlc content on
its own.

I've been holding off on buying new games and instead waiting for the Ultimate or Deluxe versions that usually have most if not all the dlc in it and you can usually get it for a great price during sales.

 

Hence I tend to get games that includes all DLCs on disc (RDR, LA Noire, Dead Island, SR3, etc ...)

 

When is this "fall of DLC" going to happen that you alluded to, OP?

 

if I have a game like Project Spark and it says that you can create with it but then I have to buy or unlock it all which takes ages, then I am annoyed.

Specially since you cant even paint things right unless you buy things.

I keep fighting with my self since I wanna try some more of it but I do not wanna pay for it all.

I can not sit there and create freely since I reach the limit fast and always the same objects and ground is boring.

I think too complex for that game I guess.

DLC are usually fine for FPS but I start to turn my back on all the DLC and add ons.

It is frustrating that no game has what I look for.

 

If anything the rise of DLC is currently ongoing. I honestly don't know when DLC will "fall", but things will eventually change to a completely new model one day.

I will only buy DLC if it's a game I truly am into. Like I want to keep it going. But I never see season passes worth it, because I feel most games don't even release enough DLC to begin with for that price. Look back when DLC was first starting out. It
was additions to the main game. Red Dead Redemption did it great! Having a bunch of new missions and all that, and a zombie storyline.
