    The recording function of the Xbox Game Bar no longer works


    Hello,

    For several weeks now, it has become impossible for me to use the video recording function of the Xbox Game Bar on PC. I have the following message:

    I've searched everywhere on the internet, I can't find any explanation for the fact that it refuses to record. I've tried on all kinds of games and applications, I always get the same message.

    Could you help me ? Any answer is welcome

    Windows logo key + ALT + R doesn't record sound of video played by Edge, but does it if played by Firefox

    Thanks for the update
    I was trying to replicate your situation, it seems Edge using the game bar recording feature is working as expected

    Probably is a functionality between Edge and Game Bar to avoid any DRM issues

    chkdsk

    1 - Type cmd (Command Prompt) in the search bar of the Start menu and then click Run as administrator.

    2 - Enter chkdsk /f/x/r/v

    Being in use the system will ask if the user wants to check the chosen drive after reboot. Just type S and restart the computer.

    Hi,

    The Windows Game Bar recording function isn't a screen recorder, it's limited to recording one game or application at a time. To record the whole screen you'll need a third party application.
