one option is a wireless USB to PC adapter.

The second option I use. I have an Xbox ONE ELITE gamepad. I have a USB cable connected to the gamepad, I connect it to my laptop and the system will find the gamepad and without any problem my gamepad works.

If your controller needs to be paired each time you turn the console on it may be connected to another device still. You would want to check and remove it.

Thanks for coming to the forums with this question. As previously stated by our Ambassador, its possible that you're being asked to pair your second controller each time you turn on the Xbox if you've previously had it paired with another device, like a
PC. In my own experience, since I share my console with those in my household, my controller is not the primarily used one and so, I too, need to sync my controller to my Xbox when it is not the first controller used that time.

If you still feel that this is unusual, you can try troubleshooting the issue by checking to see if your controller or controllers require an update. Sometimes controllers can act a bit strange if not up to date. Update
your Xbox One Controller
