the problem of hdmi and a / v cables

Hi, the power supply cable should be nowhere near the hdmi port, the A/V cable on the other hand is directly above the hdmi port. You can safely remove the A/V cable as you will not need that if you are using hdmi.

You can't have both the A/V cable and hdmi connected at the same time by design to prevent issues with A/V output.

Never mind, I discovered the problem was with the HDMI cable, apparently controllers won't connect if there is an A/V issue;

Do you mean the A/V cable that sits above the HDMI port?

Actually, what I did was use HDMI to my HDTV for video, and use the a/v cable the came with the 360 for audio. I'm not sure if the adapter that's sold amazon has it, but the tab I mentioned is actually on the a/v cable that came with the console.

So if you have the a/v cables, you won't need an adapter! Just cut off the tab that's on the a/v cable. I now have the HDMI going to my TV, and the a/v(red/white) cable going to my Logitech F540.
