Those independent developers could be the next big thing. Being more open is the only way to go.

Good point; hopefully MS does away with that *if that is the game* and let independent developers have open use without pressure.

 

it doesn't say much except its really cool to be an indie developer.

 

I think its great that we get to see these games on the Xbox one. Really looking forward to some of capy's release that will be coming soon as well. The games that they bring are different, with some really cool ideas and concepts. Will more than likely
purchase a lot of indie games this gen.

 

Indie Devs make better games than mainstream developers.

 

Its that no holds bar style. With no one other than themselves holding the design back. I believe we can expect to see some absolutely amazing indie games these next few years. Especially with how much more efficient editing and creation tools are becoming!

 

The video itself doesn't really mention anything. But independent gaming is a by-product of the many factors and i think MS would be wise to try to make the system as lax as ever for them if they are true in embracing the digital marketplace(which is one
of the big reasons why this "movement" is gaining so much ground.)

 

The video doesn't say much? They say that "a picture is worth a thousand words" - this is a video! Just look at all of the awesome game clips coming from those guys! I'm sure you guys will have something to say about those.

 

I'm sure those games are awesome but the video doesn't go into any detail other then" Hey! INDI IS SO COOL AND HIP."

 

Why the change in attitude towards indie games? Most things I read on here especially when the ps4 is mentioned is indies suck, AAA games are the only thing worth a damn. Kinda took me back reading all the positive comments. The more indie games the better.

 

Some of us have always been pro indie, i spent around 50$ on indie titles alone on the 360.

That does not include Arcade Titles.

 

I never have had a proper with indie games, some of them I love the look and sound of. Have even created a few threads in recent times about some that are coming out soon . Although they are never the most populated ones ha.

 

indie isnt cool and hip if you're over 12...well atleast to me...i find it astonishing that after all the years of advancement in technology playstations main theme at e3 was INDIE GAMES pffft...ok 2 dimensional games with weak graphics...that are mainly
built for children. I would say let playstation have all the crappy indie titles coming out but that would just hurt all the feelings of you over 12 year olds that still like little kiddy games.

Not all Indy games are 2-dimensional with weak graphics, or are for kids. Most games choose 2-D with "classic" graphics because it harkens back to the old school days of gaming and as a result can often appeal to older gamers. Also, plenty of Indy games
are violent or are only appropriate for mature audiences. You sound like graphics are all that matters when you couldn't be further from the truth.

For me, Indy games can be hit or miss - it depends on the quality & polish of the game (& of course the gameplay, playability, & amount of fun you can have with it of course). I want quality Indy games (Limbo, Braid, Super Meat-Boy, Fez, etc.), not garbage
or copy-cat games like a lot of what you can find on the Xbox 360's Indy section.

You have to remember, some of the world's best games started out on the Indy front - Minecraft, anyone?
