  2. I can't look up your SRN...I'm not an employee of Microsoft just a community ambassador trying to help you out and getting info for my own use down the line as I have never had this issue like this in my current or past dealings.

Can you confirm the end of warranty date on the service website? I noticed you answered all the questions but that one from my other post.

And when did you first encounter the issue and have the button break?

  5. Hmm alright well I see your first post was Feb 20th so I am going to assume that was the when the issue started but based on that you would have a 13 month warranty (With the end date you provided) which is outside the standard 12 months offered. So with
that said I got no ideas how you got an extra month or how to help you since none of the time tables add up. What I can say is please keep me up to speed as I'd love to hear how this plays out.

I would however suggest getting in touch with the support center and letting them know your warranty dates are incorrect though.

    Okayyyyy

First: When I called for support I had my XBONE for about 2-3 weeks. I don't have the receipt in hand, so I'm guessing)

Second: My first call about this problem is on 3/2/15, I have the dated transcript in front of me.

Third: My XBONE was not registered on the myservice.xbox.com until the chat rep reminded me that I had to for service, so I did.

Fourth: Service told me that I have two (2) options:

Fourth (A): Send my XBONE in for service at my expense for repair

Fourth (B): They will send me a replacement refurbished console that I could just swap out in the box and sent it back postage paid, BUT they would have to not only put a $400 hold on my credit card, but they would charge me $15.00 for a "service fee"

Do you see why I am unimpressed with their options?

Remember how they handled our RROD 360's? THAT was better than this.

Oh, I almost forgot, I can return it to the store from where I purchased it, which just happens to be a Microsoft Store, that is 112 miles away, I got it there while on vacation.

So I hope you see that I will wait until, not if, but until, something else on it breaks before I scrape together the funds for Microsoft to fix their broken console.

    Have a nice day.

And you have to love this answer!

When you ask why you have to pay to get service in warranty, here's what they say:

My Xbox console is in warranty. Why am I being charged for service?

The console that you purchased might be from another country/region. There are currently no options for servicing your console if it was purchased outside the country/region where you currently live. The warranty for the console applies only to the country
    where the console was purchased.

  9. Do you not have a card on file because in the link you supplied even shows the 15 dollar and 400 charge is on and I quote "Advance exchange" but directly under that I see the table for what service costs and it shows free across the bored as long as the
    console is in warranty.

I do see the part where it states they may charge you if the console might be from another region and all but I figure that is something that they have access to check and figure out. But why don't you give a screen shot of the location the unit was purchased
to the support tech or provide them a bill of sale showing it's in a region where free service exists. I know from personally having to deal with service I have never paid a cent and always had my units taken care of.

Moving past that I'm still trying to figure out how you can return it to the store you bought it at with a Microsoft store has a 30 day return policy and the unit must be in a working order to be resold. I can supply Microsoft store links if you'd like outlining
this so you don't get the run around there.

    OY to the Vey.......

Yes I do have a card on file, and have for many years prior. My accounts through Microsoft (as if it's of any relevancy) has always been in good standing . It seems a bit bizarre that they would charge too. I guess a "service fee" isn't the same as getting
    a repair.

When I mention that "support told me" I am mearly quoting what I have a written (digital) record of. I am not making up anything. What I have said that they said (or wrote) is what I can produce to prove it. I deal in evidence only, not assumptions, in my
job and with the "real world."

I concur that given the context of their request, it did seem a bit daft to try an in-store exchange, unless, of course, they can service it on the spot. I have NO idea if Microsoft has the infrastructure in their stores (like Apple does) for service. And
keep in mind that I would not be returning it for a refund, nearly to service or possibly exchange for another unit. But that point holds no relevancy as I cannot do that anyway.

I thought that the mention of different regions was out of place on a questionnaire about "My Xbox console is in warranty. Why am I being charged for service?" But there it is, apparently. Another non-relavant point

Yes, my xbox one is registered on the service site.

I purchased my xbox one from the Microsoft store in St. Louis, more than a 2 hour drive from where I am now.

I am in zip code [Mod Removed], and the store is in [Mod Removed]

It was new, factory sealed and untouched when I set it up.

    Hey there MADDUCKY013!

Sorry to hear about the power button issue, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. If you are continuing to experience the issue, try powering off your console by pressing the Xbox button on your wireless controller until the
Off menu is displayed. Then select the option to turn off the controller or turn off your console. Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord and wait 5 minutes. Plug in your console and try powering on your console by pressing the power
button on your Xbox One console. If the button still does not register when you touch it, you may want to get your console repaired. You can request a repair through our Online Service center or
by contacting phone support from our Contact Us page. Once again, I am truly sorry to hear about the issue and any inconveniences this may have caused.

That is the exact site that support walked me to in the past. To summarize, they will send a replacement console after putting a $400 hold on your card, OR I can send it in at my expense and $15.00 to cover a "service fee"

Neither of those options is viable for me.

I remember when my 360 got the RROD, I just followed a few steps on line and they sent a box.

Making me pay for it, like you do now, is not good
