The "Permanent Conversion" Update Let us sacrifice our old discs for a Digital License!

Digital Licensing page on our website. The physical copy of the game gives the owner a license to play anywhere the game is installed, in short the discs

Wont be buying this from the store than.

If they want people to go digital the price should at least be the same!

If using a disc, attempted to review the disc:

It may be best to wipe the disc down when attempting to restart the console, or do any form of restarting.

If through a digital licensing, it would be best to perform a Network Statistics Test within the
Network Settings.

alot of games like that seem to have licensing issues digitally, however just buy the disc. Usually after a certain time period if the license isnt updated they might not continue it as a digital download

I highly doubt it. Not without paying again.

Technically, your Xbox 360 disc games are already digital. When you insert a disc your console downloads a repackaged version of the game for use with your Xbox One. The
'Update' isn't an update.

But, since you have no digital purchase history for your 360 games, you need to use the disc to prove you own it. I can't see developers letting you convert your disc games to digital for free.

As for Steam, all Steam PC disc games are made into digital games once they are activated via the Steam application. It's always been this way. The downside is that these old disc games can't be traded in like console games. Unless you have a very slow
internet connection, a Steam game on disc is essentially worthless to anyone but you.

When the Windows Games For Windows Live program was ended by Microsoft, some developers allowed you to convert your GWL disc game to a Steam game for free. This was only for a limited time however.

Steam no longer does disc to digital conversions for new games. The reason for this is a simple one,
new PC games are no longer provided on discs.
