The people who work at Xbox Live should make the gamertag change free every half year.

Unfortunately Xbox does not give out free gamertag changes - even if you're being harassed because of it. You should report and block people who are harassing you.

You must purchase a gamertag change. There's no free changes because of this.

i somewhat agree that it should be free but instead of having it once every 6 months make it so people can only change their name 2 or 3 times a year for free and if they want to change it more than that then thats when it should be the 800 points

Remember that a single change is free, then you must pay for a new Gamertag, this I imagine was applied by people who continuously changed the name on Xbox live.

You should be able to change it like normal and get it for free. Just make sure to read everything to make sure it doesn't charge you.

I'm sorry, regardless of if your gamertag has your name in it, Microsoft will not give free gamertag changes. Free gamertag changes are only given to people who make new accounts on Xbox.com or their Xbox 360 console within the first 30 days of the account
creation.

After that time, everyone (even free accounts that didn't elect to change their gamertag within 30 days) are required to pay to change their gamertag.
