The PC's xbox application cannot download Gears of War 4, prompting error 0x80D02017

This issue arose with a Windows update. Here is the solution to solve this problem.

Disable IPv6

1. Press Windows key + r together to open run

2. Type ncpa.cpl in it and click OK.

3. Right click on your network and choose properties.

4. Now uncheck Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPV6).

5. Click OK and close the window.

Sign out and sign back in to the Microsoft Store

1. Just open the Microsoft Store

2. Click on your User profile pic in the upper right corner.

3. Choose sign out.

4. Now sign in again.

Reset window storage

1. Press Windows key and search for wsreset.exe

2. Click wsreset to reset the storage cache.

3. Wait a while to allow Windows Store to fully restart. Now try again.

Hello Roland,

If this title is not a play anywhere title you will not be able to play it on the PC. That could be why you are getting the error to check the account. If you are unsure if a game is play anywhere it will say it in the description. example: Gears of war

The Xbox One S console comes with a download code for Gears 4, which should give you the online messages download codes for Gears 1-3.

The fine print on the console says that "to qualify [for Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment] purchase and play Gears of War 4 on Xbox Live by 31 December 2016. Must be 17+" -- Have you played Gears 4 on Xbox Live yet?
