The other day, April 6th, My account name/email was changed Do I still have my purchases?

I one day received a notification that something went wrong with my Microsoft account? This confused me so when I logged in to see what the trouble was I could no longer use my email and my account's identity had to be changed to my secondary email. The
process was semi-successful because I was able to log in to the site to write this with the new information, however, I do not know if my purchases or accounts with the login are synced? If I have lost old purchases or data I do not know how to check or process...
let alone begin to fathom how/why this has happened? Can I still log into other accounts such as Minecraft or Xbox? Do I have to purchase everything again?

I have attempted to log into Minecraft and Xbox with the old login information and the updated account information and I continue to receive the "Invalid email address or password. Forgot
your password?" message. What should I do? I don't want to lose everything.
