The original Tritton Ax Pro (True DD 5.1)

I have had this headset for ages now, bought it for the Xbox360. I hadn't used the headset in ages and not at all since buying the Xbox One, particularly since the Trittonaudio website do no list the headset as being compatible with the Xbox One.

Anyway, I thought stuff it, i'll plug it in and see what happens. Lo and behold it works a treat with the audio adaptor. It really is bloody awesome!

Anyway given that Tritton do not list it as being compatible with the Xbox One I asked them to update their website given my findings. They responded saying;

"We have had cases where they are compatible and aren't as well, so we do not guarantee them to work on the new console."

which is a bit odd tbh. Anyway the very first Tritton AX Pro headset works fine for me...

Sound only working on stereo setting

Yes, it's true ... optical currently supports only Stereo and DTS :-(

I hope the rumours are true, that optical DD 5.1 and 7.1 will be added by firmware update, because my Tritton AX 720 headset needs it.

 

Please support Dolby Digital 7.1 optical out !!!

Hi,

I have a Tritton AX 720 gaming headset, which gives me fantastic surround sound on Xbox 360 over the optical output of the console.

But on Xbox One I only have Stereo, because the Tritton headphone amp doesn't support DTS. So please Microsoft implement optical DD 7.1 optical output or at least DD 5.1, so I get surround sound with the Tritton.

 

Hey man, I have the same headset. I can get it to work just fine for sound, but have not found a way to get the mic to work as there is nothing for it to plug into. Are you using it for just sound and no mic? if you are using the mic, let me know how you
plugged it into the xone controller

 

For the Mic you need the stereo headset adapter for the Xbox One Controller and use the included 3.5mm TRRS to 2.5mm TRS adapter cable so any 360 compatible headset will work with the One.

I tried my Tritton AXPro I think it's the third revision after a couple exchanges and it works great with the Xbox One. Same with my AX360s and probably the 720s and all the other 360 models. I guess they had to put that in there since at launch the One
didn't put out Dolby 5.1 from optical and the Tritton decoder could only handle uncompressed stereo PCM and then add Dolby Pro Logic. Really didn't sound all that good. Not sure what update it was, but now you can choose bitstream out on optical and select
Dolby 5.1 and they work just as well as they did with the 360.

I bought the Astro A50s to use for my One, but I would say the AXPro still sounds the best for 5.1 sources like games and movies.

 

Let me get this straight.

xbox one adapter goes 3.5mm to 2.5mm

my tritton axpro is 3.5

[I understand it has something to do with the 3 lines on the prong for the mic]

When I plug all of this is...I get no voice in my headset. I was in a party last night and when I had it all plugged in, nothing. If I unplugged it all, I could hear through my tv and the group could hear me when I spoke.

I managed to make it so I could finally hear them through my headset (had to change the settings), but if I wanted to talk, I had to use connect.

I just don't get what else I need to do to get it to work.

 

yeah if you get the xbox one stereo headset adaptor that plugs into your controller then it comes with a cable which will reduce the 3.5mm jack on the Tritton headset to 2.5mm

Once you have the stereo headset adaptor connected up make sure you change the game/chat mix to 100% chat mix so that you only get chat coming through the stereo headset adaptor - if you forget to do this you will be getting the Dolby digital game sound
coming from the Xbox Ones optical output and also the stereo version of the game sound coming through the stereo headset adaptor in your controller - and you don't want that

To change the mix just press and hold the chat button on the stereo headset adaptor until you hear it beep which lets you know you maxed that channel out to 100% chat/0% game

and as above make sure to switch your optical output to bitstream and dolby digital to get the good stuff

 

How do I get my ax pros to work in chat what cords do I need seeing it doesnt come with the correct ones any help is appreciated

I know this is an old thread but I've managed to get the chat going in the games but not in parties, any ideas?
