The ongoing Kinectless xbox noise problem

I had tried wired or wireless no difference

 

Is there any solutions ? I have the same problem...

 

Yeah I've tried both and it makes no difference, I think it might just be a loud hard disk. It's difinatly that kind of noise.

I have the same Problem with a kinectless Xbox One (MFR 12.05.2014) - send it back to Amazon and got a new One - same noise after the Update...

It sounds like an old HDD, but i think its not the HDD. This noise sounds like an electric part - maybe the GPU gets too high FPS at the dashboard and when you run a game the FPS is limited to 60 frames. Then the noise is gone.

I told this idea to the german support this morning.

What are you thinking?

I bought the kinectless xbox one 2 days ago and had that static'y noise or what ever coming from the system after the mandatory updates, I brought it back today and got a new one from a different store, quiet xbox until the update, thinking I might have
just gotten bad luck with 2 xboxes I returned it and got another new one just a few minutes ago only to have the same thing right after the updates, I have no idea what the problem is but I figured I'd share

 

Strangest thing about this is that it is mostly a issue when the xbox is idle at the dashboard but goes away when playing a game, It's like some kind of low power kinda thing, or is it when the HDD parks. Or is it some kind of coil whine, or maybe a wireless
noise?

 

Exactly, only happens when it's turned on and sits at the dashboard, right when I start up a game it stops

 

When are they going to fix this ***!?

That is exactly, what my both brand new Xbox Ones from Amazon do... - like i said only in idle-mode when dashboard is running or when you turn it off and set it to "instant on-mode". When i set it to "energy-save-mode" there is no noise when i turn my console
off.

PS: I have internet connected via cable.

 

Bought a kinectless Xbox One 1 day ago getting the same static/capacitor noise as you, it's definitely not the hard drive and like overs have suggested sounds like something on the graphics card. I have had a similar fault on my pc graphics card before,
spoke to Tesco who then spoke to Microsoft who said it's the first they've heard of this problem, I'm getting a replacement today will keep you updated but to me this looks like a faulty batch and I will probably end up getting my money back.

 

That's the noise, but that one sounds very loud compared to most of them I have heard. Also this as been happening since day one so not sure can be blamed on a bad batch or consoles sold without kinect. It's definitely something to do with a low power or
idle issue at the dashboard.

 

I found something interesting at another forum:

"I've figured it out, though. It's not the HDD, it is actually capacitors screaming. I thought it occurred in game but with further testing that doesn't appear to be the case after all. For instance, the sound is audible in the main menu of the Xbox One
and stops the moment I start Forza 5. If it's a new issue, I imagine Microsoft disabled VSync in the UI in the latest update. This happens on PC's with dedicated graphics cards too when VSync is disabled, typically under the same conditions."

I think that could be the reason for the noise...?

 

I also think it's a similar issue to the coil whine noise that some GPU cards experience and not a HDD issue,
