The newer controller

From what ive read the newer controller with the 3.5 headphone jack includes mic monitoring ( not the adapter the controller itself) , so can i use any headset, and get mic monitoring? Or does the headset need certain hardware.

When will Xbox come out with redesigned Xbox One controllers?

I love the Xbox One controller. It's perfect imo. I'm hoping that Microsoft's newer controllers are similar to SCUF controllers.

 

Controller analogue drift

I am on my 4th faulty controller now, even the newer one with 3,5 has this issue

 

it still depends on the headset, see brand info for what is supported. Ask if you have something in mind.

Although if its not XO compatable its unlikely to work and some brands still need their own brand adapter.

 

Im looking at the turtle beach XO four stealth, they come with an adapter, but i wanted to be sure mic monitoring would work just plugging strait into the new controller. The adapter interferes with the paddles on scuf. Anyone have experience with XO four

TBH i would recommend the afterglow ag9 they are completely wireless £60 in the UK under $100 in the US, and excellent value for money.

I think TB has chat support on their website, they should be able to confirm about the xo four stealth

I would second EnenDaveyBoy s recommendation. I've been very pleased with the Afterglow AG 9. Completely wireless, comfortable, great sounding, charge lasts up to 16 hours, and they only take about 3 hours to charge back up.

so far, every pair of headphones i have plugged into the controller have allowed mic monitoring, and you can directly control the mic monitoring volume via the side menu.

 

@Farscape, out of interest what headsets have you tried?
