The new Xbox gamertag system features the gamertag numbers far too much.

The new system for gamertags allows 12 characters. The numbers assigned after a hashtag do not count towards the 12 characters. You can read more about the new gamertag system here: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2019/06/10/express-yourself-with-new-gamertag-features/

if the numbers come after a # in your gamertag, that is because of the new gamertag system the # followed by numbers allows multiple people to have the same gamertag. As far as I am aware they do plan to remove the numbers and # from display (I could be
wrong) I also don't believe you can choose the numbers after the #

I understand your point, the gamertag system is changing, but, now you can take any gamertag, even if someone already took, the difference is the # with numbers. I guess emoji is too much.

You can't remove the numbers in your gamertag they help identify the account and it's a new way to help them so they changed the gamertag system to a new one but if you want you can change your gamertag but I don't think it will be much help

Thank you for replying back so quickly. In regards to the numbers at the end of your new Gamertag, this is the result of the new Gamertag system that was implemented a month or so ago. If the Gamertag you are requesting is already taken, you will be
