The new Xbox elite series 2 controller's battery can't be charged
I received the new Xbox elite series 2 controller last night, and I've connected it to my xbox and updated its drive, all of the functions worked pretty well except one thing: The battery inside this controller seems to be not working. When I connect it
to the console using the wire or put it onto the charger, it shocked briefly, which should indicate that the battery is being charged, but the charging indicator on the controller doesn't light up at all, and if you pull the charging wire, the controller just
totally lost power. Is there something I missed about the battery, or I'm just that "lucky" guy who received a new controller with a broken buildin battery? Does anyone else have the same problem?

Hi,

I u understand that the Series X controller will be using a USB C connector to charge the battery (same as the Elite 2 controller), so charging stations that use micro USB won't work.

I can't remove the batteries from an elite series 2 controller? Would I still be able to do this procedure?

Same here, the exact same problem on my XBOX series X and S....

from 6 joysticks I have, only 2, elite 1 and and old xbox one s controller, without updated firmware, are working fine.

but all my fancy new Xbox series controllers are having this problem since past year and I was thinking the problem were my controller battery (I have the official charge and play battery on all my controllers)

hopefully they will address this soon...

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.
