"The name of the creator of this file is not allowed on Xbox LIVE"

Hello,

When I attempt to upload a file to my Halo: Reach fileshare, I receive the following message:

"NAME IS BLOCKED

The name of the creator of this file is not allowed on Xbox LIVE"

My gamertag is, of course, and I believe it is entirely appropriate. It may be worth noting that THF stands for The Halo Forum. I am certain that this is the gamertag in question as I am able to upload files where my gamertag was not the Author/Creator
or most recent Editor.

Please help me to resolve this ban and continue to share content with my friends and access all the benefits I pay for on Xbox LIVE. Thank you!

P.S. The files in question have been amassed over a number of years so changing my gamertag would not be an appropriate solution.

Halo 4 - File share user is invalid

I tried renaming the file. It specifically says "The name of the creator of this file is not allowed on Xbox LIVE"

Could well be...and you are right: some people are oversensitive. Be as that may, you can't change the rules. Change you GT to something else and try that.

According to the online Urban Dictionary THF also has another meaning which is not allowed on Xbox Live. This may also be why you cannot access what you want.

Re the Urban Dictionary comment, I'm sure there are thousands of acronyms that show up on that site. If you banned every Urban Dictionary entry then there would be like 10 gamertags left on XBL. I've never seen any inappropriate interpretation of THF, nor
have I ever heard another player interpret my gamertag that way.

Ok, the first suggestion I do is clearing your System Cache:

Please do following to Clear your System Cache:

1. On Xbox Home, go to Settings (right side) and then select
System and then select Storage.

2. On your Controller, typ de next commando: LB,RB
X, LB, RB, X and then confirm with
Yes.

3. Your Console will restart automatically.

4. After the restart, the Updates will automatically being installed when you sign in into your Xbox Live Profile.

Another thing you can do is re-downloading your profile.

Please do following:

1. Sign out of your Xbox Love Profile and the press the Xbox Guide Botton and select
Download Profile.

2. Enter your E-mail-adress and Password associated with your
Xbox Live Profile.

If you have forgotten them, tou can recover them
here.

If your account is parenthal protected, you need permission to continue.

3. Select the Storage Device to store your Xbox Live Profile (most uses Hard Drive).

4. Sign in into Your Xbox Live Account.

Seems like you need to call the company of these titles an see if you were banned for any particular reason

Hey there Mally!

Let's see what we can do to get things sorted.

This almost sounds like game specific bans to me. In which case you would need to contact Bungie or 343 Studios (depending on which Halo you're trying) and Activision/Treyarch regarding the Call of Duty games and see if you've received any game specific bans.

Let us know what they say and we'll work with you from there. ^_^

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with your gamertag. It sounds like you might have some type of file share ban, if so you will need to contact 343i on their forums for more specifics. As far as I have heard there are issues regarding the word filters
on Halo.
