the mute button will not turn off.

My son is unable to party chat as the mute button on the controller will not turn off. The headset does not seem to be recognised any longer. This happened suddenly after working with no issues previously.

I have been in contact with Microsoft - suggested - after many different attempts to turn mutton button off and eventually resorting to a system restart which did not work either - a new headset. Still it made no difference. The mute button is still displaying
on screen. Sound is coming through the television so its not that. Headset is not muted.

Seems to me the problem lies in the devices and accessories menu on settings. When you click, the options should be configure and the console choice and then audio headset menu - but that option is not there - the volume button is there on the side bar
but will not allow you to click on it therefore no option to change the mute.

My son has three controllers, all three are showing same issue. I have exhausted google and you tube looking to solve this.

I am not very tech with xbox so please - if you can help patience may be needed, however I have tried every suggestion. Any help appreciated.

Xbox One Headset not working?

I am having the same issue. I purchased an extra controller as well. The mute button lights up and will not turn off. Please help.

My headset plugs in, but mute is stuck on, I can't turn it off. The orange light remains on, pressing the button does nothing.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Make sure that the mute button on the front of the MixAmp M80 is not enabled (The mute button should not be illuminated).

Once confirmed, kindly perform a powercycle by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

AYT on Xbox

Maybe try hitting the mute button off on the mic. Then turn the controller off. Once doing this then unplug the mic cored from the controller. Then wait 30 secs and then re plug it back in and turn the controller. Hope that helps and if not check your voice
options.
