Personally I think one of the big things I see, especially with Win10 coming out is creating a UI spread across multi platforms. The only downfall of the Xbox, personally, is the lack of mouse and IE. Now downfall is probably the wrong word. However there
must be a reason. As a user it seems blatantly obvious to me to have the Xbox has a console, with the ability to upgrade components, and to use what search engine you wish, with a mouse. However where do you draw the line?. I may aswell get a gaming PC with
    an Xbox controller.

  3. The biggest (or a big, perhaps) problem is that IE belongs to MS and so does the X1. Chrome (or pretty much any other browser) is competition. Need I say more? I agree our consoles are much closer to PCs now than ever, but I'm not so sure I like the idea.

I mean... 10 years from now, when it comes to this console retiring and the next generation being ushered in, the last thing I want to do is think "All I'm doing is buying another PC... what apps will it run? What browser will work best on it? Will it handle
Photoshop 27? With so many other devices able to access XBL now, even on a closed network, will I need to worry about having antivirus software for it? Can it even install/use AV software? So now what's the difference between my console and a PC? Wait, since
the 'gap' between console and PC is closing... will I be able to upgrade my next Xbox?" <OMG I hope that never happens!

DGMW... I like the features on the Xbox. But I got it because of the simplicity of it being a console that's still made for games. The last thing I want for the 'Xbox... 2' is to have to walk into a store and ask about getting it, only to have the sales
person tell me it is capable of all my TV needs, multiple browsers, Office, Photoshop, faxing... and wait... something else... oh yeah, it still plays games too!

Exactly my opinion as well. Let's say for instance that I don't like windows 10, should I then be able to install say, windows 7? Where does it end?

Another thing to consider is that the new browser for Microsoft (Spartan) is supposed to be very similar to Chrome and Firefox. Whether or not it replaces IE on the One hasn't been disclosed yet. But if its going to be a Windows 10 ecosystem across all platforms,
then I will assume it will be on the Xbox.

I see no point in any of the functions above apart from on a PC.

I personally will never understand this concept of people not wanting a PC at all, yet they want the console to do everything a PC does. If a console could do everything a PC does, when does it stop being a console and become a PC?

So basically what we are saying is that these are no longer consoles but closed PCs? So in future when I get yelled at for comparing a console to a PC, can I use this thread as an example? Trust me, that's happened more than once on here!
