The Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2014 According To FORBES Were...

I own 5 games on the list. 4 of them i really like. I agree with destiny on the list. and watch dogs to a point. thief was a huge letdown as well. I don't think halo and titanfall belong there though IMO but i understand why forbes put them there

 

Who really cares what Forbes thinks...they should stick to marketing, business ethnics and politics and let the gamers worry about the games...if i need to know who the richest people in the world are i'll check out Forbes.

I am not sure why people even gives Forbes clicks. Unless they are talking about who made the most money in hip hop I dont care.

Forbes knows as much as IGN and other videogame medias...

 

Forbes mustn't be big though, at least for peps who aren't Americans. I know IGN though. In NZ we've heard about it ;D. Reviews can also be biased. Maybe try to collect a range of views from people in different age groups too.

 

I read Forbe articles quite often. It's a decent magazine.

 

So Forbes articles are made for what demographic? there's 2 let downs for me, Halo MCC and destiny. Thief was excellent, Unity bought AC back to where it was good and produced an awesome game, Titanfall is a bit basic but it's hard to deny the fun it provides,
Driveclub imo is the best racer for years though I haven't played horizon 2 yet, Dark souls 2 though brilliant is only judged against Dark and demons and since there's no easy glitch you actually need skill to play it, haven't played LOTF or ESO, watch dogs
was ok imo though I didn't read the hype.

When did single player add replay value? Since they started having single player in a
game.

Just like watching a favourite movie again or rereading a favourite book, some people like experiencing the story of a game again.

So just like not having multiplayer can cut replay value, so can not having single player.

Forbes got a lot of attention from some in the video game community for being perhaps the only site that bothered to look into why people were complaining about the ending to Mass Effect
3, rather than just writing those folk off as entitled whiners.

A little support can go a long way.

 

I love Titanfall. It surely was a C.O.D. killer for me. They are still supporting the game as update 9 just came out not to long ago. If there is a second one, they can count me in...as long as dedicated servers are still used.

I can agree to a certain point, though twitch shooters are not known for single player.

Just speaking for myself I love the single player campaigns of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare titles.

Not award winning writing but neither is 'Shoot 'em Up' an Oscar winning movie but I enjoy seeing Clive Owen mowing down the bad guys again.

 

I enjoyed them too! Couldn't see buying a C.O.D. game without the campaign; heck the only thing nice I can say about Ghosts is the campaign was great. It wasn't a secret that Titanfall had no offline story/single player, so for the writer of the Forbes article
to complain about replay value seems kind of silly.

Not a secret but still a fair comment I thought.

I would have bought Titanfall if it had a single player campaign. It didn't and so I didn't. To me it lost even a single play value.

That's just me of course, I highly value single player in my games. Not everyone does and them enjoying that is fine with me. It'd be a boring world after all if we all like the same thing.
