Think that forbes link got it's date wrong, it's out Feb 20th according to Capcom.

 

Only own 2 games on that list, Titanfall and Destiny (neither are my favorite). What he said about both were spot on as well.

 

I own 4 of them. Yes I fully agree with what they say about them yet I still did enjoy them. Only one I have not been able to really get back into yet is Watch Dogs.

Some very good points that I agree with, some I don't but hey we are all different.

What I agree with most is what was said about Destiny, spot on in m opinion.

Great shooting and tight multiplayer hardly make up for the endless grind, bizarre loot schemes and post-campaign leveling chore, not to mention the terrible, empty story. Playing the same missions over and over again, and racing over the same terrain
time after time, make Destiny about as repetitive a game as you can find.

There’s no denying the skill of Bungie’s feedback loop voodoo here. It just isn’t the sort of imaginative, space opera experience we hoped it would be. This is the shell of the game we first heard about when it was announced, and Bungie has only
made matters worse with expensive, soulless DLC that mucks with level caps and makes an already grindy experience even more so.

There are many things that work in Destiny, and it is an addictive experience, but it’s still such a huge letdown from the game so many of us imagined. The type of game that doesn’t just rehash the same areas over and over again.
The kind of game with a decent script.

 

4 here enjoyed all of them to some extent Watchdogs I loved until it glitches to unplayable, Destiny I enjoyed until the repetition got to much and the only remedy was overpriced DLC that was much the same anyway. AC Unity was a hideous mess that I have
parked until I can bear to go back to it. Which leaves Titanfall which I enjoyed a lot on release, but revisited with some forum regulars the other night and had the best MP experience for yonks in a full private lobby, was really impressed to see all the
extras that have been added since release. The most accurate descriptions on that list were definately Destiny and Unity.

I Remember me you and a few others just after Titanfall released playing online. Now I'm not the biggest fan these days of PvP MP but those were some great games. I'll hopefully jump on the next game ( if there's another arranged )

Watch Dogs was a weird one for me. At first I thought it was very over hyped but once I got really into it the game grew on me a lot and can't wait for a sequel! I was lucky that I didn't have no issues with it.

Still yet to get back and finish Unity, again I've been lucky, apart from some weird visual glitches I haven't up to yet had any problems but I know quite a few who have.

 

I'm not a big fan of Titan Fall but since when did a SP add replay? The author implies TF not having a SP cuts replay?! Where do these idiots come from...

I visited it. I use to have Watch Dogs but I traded it. Titanfall I still have but only played it the week it came out. As for Halo MCC, after that 15GB Update and 3 Xbox Live Updates, matchmaking is still having issues. But I love Halo 2 Campaign in Halo
MCC, that definitely has next gen graphics in it. Destiny was rated one of them? lol lucky I don't have the game. I was thinking of buying it but am not going to. Not because of what anyone else may say about it. I have other games I'm planning on getting
this year and which I already have. As for DriveClub that's PS4 fanboys problems it isn't on Xbox.

 

Is it me or was that list pretty much every big game and release of 2014? In my opinion Titanfall was not a disappointment. It was just what it said it was going to be. Granted the MCC MP was a disaster but the Campaign is still amazing fun, especially
CO OP. Watch Dog's did not disappoint me, it was a solid story, Aiden Pierce was cool and having to get rid of cops in creative ways was a blast.

And as I have said a million times Destiny's hype sold me. And I was let down tremendously. Destiny is the King of King's of over hype. The game was trash, and the undisputed champion of DISAPPOINTING.

I mostly agree with what was said about Watchdogs, but I did enjoy it while I was playing it.

Titanfall, on the other hand, I don't believe should be on this list at all. It was great when it launched, and they've improved it drastically since then. Yes, a single player campaign would have been nice, but the lack of one is not enough to land it on
the year's biggest disappointment list in my opinion. I actually own the game on both the 360 and the One. I'm a little disappointed in the 360 version only because there aren't a lot of people playing it which means I don't always have access to the game
mode I want to play, but on the one that's not an issue.

 

I enjoyed Watch Dogs, but understand why people felt let down by it, Titanfall I dont believe was a let down, just missed opportunities, and it kind felt like soon after launch that Respawn just wanted to hurry up stop supporting it, Destiny was a let down
other than the gameplay.

 

Well I was so overjoyed to see DESTINY and TITANFAIL on the list. The only issue or problem is the TITANFAIL should have been a tie with FAILSTINY or at least number 2. Great post Goth.

An article about hype vs reality would be more accurate.

Most of these games delivered what was advertised.

So yes,Watchdogs was supposed to have better visuals,Halo MCC multiplayer isn't perfect,AC unity got some issues...

But for games like Destiny or Titanfall ,there are no surprises (or disapointment).

Never heard Respawn saying that Titanfall will have a solo campaign or tons of game modes.But it got several free updates (seems this "journalist" forgot that).

And Destiny is just what it was supposed to be and was shown during beta test.
