The "Migration problem" (PC/Windows)

as far as I can tell this was a good thing, that was until I lost my money to the "dual versions" of Microsoft's game Minecraft. I was forced to make two accounts initially, one for Mojang and the other for Microsoft, but they shared the same e-mail and I expected them to also share my account, they did not. Due to this being the case I have gotten stuck in a similar situation to a person who posted on this thread

In my case I forgot which account was my main one and tried migrating my Mojang account, since I had no idea of how to truly figure out which one held my real Minecraft account (and you can't check until you have already migrated). This led to me using the "backup" (Mojang) of my same e-mail account for Minecraft and it doesn't seem to be reversible (as stated in the documentation they provide).
I am making this post to perhaps get some help or an idea of what I should do in the case that I used the Mojang account instead of the Microsoft account because now I can not use Minecraft at all, perhaps I can help get Microsoft to understand that, although this helps them get money, this feels like a lawsuit.
To me, this is both a question and a discussion because I don't understand what to do in the situation that someone finds the migration instructions "unclear" such as myself and because I want to know what people think about the new migration (especially those who lost their Minecraft accounts to the same reason).

Extra:
I am not sure what it does, (I will research it in a bit) but perhaps Microsoft should get rid of Mojang account types? or at the very least make it LESS CONFUSING PLEASE.
If the issue is not the account type I chose, then it would help to know why it got rid of my MC account. (they share the same exact E-mail, just different passwords)
