    The Microsoft Store and anything related to it will not open.


    I wanted to play a game that was cross platform between PC and Xbox, but in order to do so, I need to use the Xbox Game Bar to send them an invite. When I went to open the app, it would show it open on the task bar and then immediately close. I tried the same thing with the Xbox App, and the result was the same. I then tried to open the Microsoft Store in order to redownload those two applications, in case it was just a bug. The Microsoft store also would not open. When I redownloaded the Xbox App and tried to open it, the screen says, "We encountered a problem (0x80040904)" I have tried reformatting my computer, repairing the drives and everything in between. Am I going to have to reset my entire computer to factory?

    Kindly make sure that your Windows is pro activated and is legit. If not, you may need do a fresh install with legit windows downloaded from MS website.

    yes, I have reset everything. I can download anything on my PC from Steam, just anything Microsoft store related refuses to download.

    I do not want to use anything x box related. I will not subscribe to x box services.

    The Microsoft store will not let me download it.

    you dont have to load the companion app to launch games they are in the start menu.

    what version of windows 10 do you have installed, is it 1903,1909 or 2004. also in the windows store have you checked for updates and also checked for updates under settings.

    I'm running windows 1909, and I cant launch it from start menu on windows either.

    And yes in the windows store I tried checking for updates and nothing came up, nor could I install any other software from the store.
