    The Martian Extended Edition UHD Blu ray Dolby Atmos Sound Sync Problem


    I am watching the movie The Martian Extended Edition UHD 4k Blu Ray with Dolby Atmos sound. HDMI from Xbox One S going to Yamaha RX-A770 receiver which is connected to tv. Many times throughout the movie the sound goes silent for a split second and then
    becomes out of sync with the video. Rewinding just for an instant then hitting play again restores synchronization of the video and audio. I am confirmed watching the extended cut and suspect that the issue is occurring when the movie switches to or from
    footage that is not in the theatrical release. With this setup, all other UHD blu rays with dolby atmos sound that I have tried have no problems.

    Atmos not Working in Bluray App

    I have this same problem. I'm not getting the Atmos Bitstream from UHD Blu Ray discs. Games aren't a problem and the demo videos from the Atmos App work fine, i.e. my receiver shows Dolby Atmos. But when I play a UHD Disk from the Blu Ray app, it defaults
    to Dolby TrueHD. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed this down to an issue with the Blu Ray player App. The only thing I haven't tried, which I will tonight, is to uncheck the "Let my Receiver Decode" check box. Which shouldn't fix the problem, but I'll try it
    anyway.

    Blu ray app won't play dolby atmos on UHD blu ray discs

    I have my xbox one s set to bitstream out dolby digital. I have enabled the "Let my receiver decode audio" in the blu ray settings. Here's my problem with the app. When I open the blu ray app and try to play a UHD disc with dolby atmos, I get an error that
    says "Your audio receiver can't decode this" (Error code 0x91d7000e). However, when I put in a 1080p blu ray disc with dolby atmos, it plays dolby atmos. My xbox one is connected to the HDMI in port of a soundbar that supports dolby atmos. Is this a known
    issue with the blu ray app currently? Is there a way to fix this? I'd greatly appreciate some help with this.

    I've the same problem. I suspect it's the drive access time when "branching" for the extended scenes.

    Surely it's a problem easy to solve with the hardware of the Xbox (i.e. increase the read buffer). Stand alone players don't seem to have a problem.

    Xbox One 4K Blu-ray Playback issues

    Just got my first 4k blu ray (The Martian: Extended Edition). Sound worked fine for a while, playing in Dolby Atmos on my 5.1.2 setup. Randomly went out of sync by a few seconds. I turned off the Xbox and restarted the show, skipping to where i left off,
    it played fine for a few minutes then went out of sync again. This time i used rewind, went back about 10 seconds, and sound was back in sync. It continued to randomly play out of sync for the rest of the movie, if i used rewind or fast forward it would sync
    correctly. Sometimes it would work well for seconds, other times it would go for 10 minutes. Sound System stayed in Dolby Atmos the whole time, audio receiver never gave any indication signal had changed or anything. Display never changed, and i monitored
    it on my phone through the Onkyo app as well. I feel like it was entirely the Xbox's fault. I had issues with video stutter on my One S with standard bluray. I have only watched one other standard blu ray on the X (Moana), i was only half watching with my
    kids, but i don't think it went out of sync at all.

    Thank you. My atmos works on everything except the UHD player, there is no support on it for dolby atmos - even if everything is switched on down to the sound settings on the blu ray disc it will only out put dolby tru HD at its optimum - microsoft just
    need to do a patch to update it - its just coding afterall, as the xbox outputs atmos anyway ha ha
