The many benefits of BC on the XB1

Really looking forward to October or November (that's Fall?) when it gets released. I wonder what games will be picked for the titles to start off with? Obviously a lot of 1st party Microsoft owned titles will be apart of the list. I wonder how many third
parties will give the green light? There's a few already that have allowed a few games to be added. It's gonna be interesting what happens either way.

 

I agree; I can't wait to see. Thanks to an article on IGN, I've learned that it's the publishers who decide whether their games will release as BC, not MS or the devs.

I just watched a video comparison between XB1&360 Mass effect side by side and synced and XB1 version looks better and runs better. Some instances 6 seconds difference. Never really cared about BC but now I will give it a thumbs up.

Thanks guys, yea I got prompted for the update just a couple hours after posting haha.

Played a bit of PDZ on the One, seemed to run pretty well! It almost looks like they did a bit of upscaling or something cause I remember that looking like crap last time I played it on 360 haha.

I'm kind of curious once they add games like Skyrim or Left 4 Dead how will DLC work? Cause I bought a lot for games like that.

 

^^DLC will not work until the its out of preview and released to the public.

Surely the point of the preview is to catch any issues. Why would they add the DLC with no preview testing?

 

I'll take a guess that Crackdown and Crackdown 2 might make an appearance, or other games that are part of a series. Wouldn't it be in the developers best interest to think about BC with future games from the same series? Maybe the older COD games since
the servers are still popular back to Modern Warfare.

MS seem to be getting more popular doing things they said they never would,,,,

 

I think MS own the license for Shadowrun. It has to become BC.

 

@Vanyel I believe I had saw a tweet from Major or Xbox Support(Someone from MS) stating such. I could be wrong though. But as of now Mass Effect DLC doesn't show up. At least it didn't for me, that's why I had to start a new save because my old one had the
DLC attached to it.

But according to Kudo, the DLC should show up

Well its not going public for a while so who is to say next week preview testers dont get an update to allow DLC?

 

Who is to say? Well 24 apparently. That's why I questioned why he was so certain of that.

 

Ive omly guessing but as ive seen in preview it will work in an updated preview dash before going public.

 

When this goes public for every xbox 1 owner I hope Far Cry 3 is part of the launch which I'll have to go out and buy it though since I only played it on the ps3 and I never got to finish it so this will be my chance hopefully.
