The kinect is a gimmick

Ah, we are getting no where. Gentlemen, can't we talk this out in a civil manner?

ok so the reason I turn my xbox one off by the plug is because technically the xbox one is still on if you turn it off by the controller or tap the power button on the console which i think is a waste of electric. To fully turn it off, I hold the power button
on the console until it goes off, wait for the fan sound to go off than pull the plug.

Now back to the kinect. I will admit, I was one of those who didn't originally want one, then thought it was a pretty cool feature on the first day but after a few months found that it's been quite useless. Now I play BF4 and yes it comes in handy but its
still not worth the extra money we have payed. I don't know why they couldn't just incorporate the voice command into the headset?

The party chat and going to the friends menu is another thing I am not happy about but it seems they are fixing that in the next update. The only other complaint i have is automatic recordings, i can understand it recording good game clips but things such
as misses and saves on fifa 14. why would i want to see that?

 

Ray.... when OFF.. it pulls 1.8 Watts.... you might be doing more harm than good by unplugging and plugging in every time...

 

Technically it's not off it's in standby mode. Pulling the plug won't do any damage what so ever.

 

No its off. Stanby or not. Dont unplug it. Wear and tear on the pins aswell

 

@Ray to expand if you have the console set to off and not sleep mode it doesnt matter the method of how you turn it off The console and kinect will be off not sleeping.

 

6 months later and I still stand by my thought that the Kinect is useless.

i AGREE as well but yes im a sony fan but hold on, i think its a gimmick so is, vita,move,ps camera, xbox kinect and now xbox one kinect and oh i forgot orimous or what ever ps virtual realty.realty. Ok back to the kinect on one, i was not expect anything
different with it but maybe a few tweaks from the original had it too. The time between the both is not a lot so i was expecting the same, but i don't like that i have to yeelll at it 3 4 5 times to get it to work i have had the system 2 days and my voice
is horse.So i stoped useing voice commands.
