    The item you’re trying to use appears to be corrupted


    I bought the hard copy of cod vanguard and was trying to install it but when it got to the main download of the game it would not download instead it gave me the message saying it appears to be corrupt please uninstall and reinstall which I’ve tried many time but kept getting the same result I’ve cleared my cache hard rest my system and am at a loss any info or tricks would greatly help

    If you have an external hard drive connected to your console, remove and try installing the game without the external hard drive. You can also try installing the game with the console in offline mode. If the problem persists, the disc may be defective and I recommend replacing it where you bought it.

    I'm AJ, an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.
    I'm sorry you are experiencing issues installing Call of Duty.

    Unfortunately, it seems the original installations of these games became corrupt and are now interfering with the new installation process.

    In this case, I'm afraid my best advice would be to have these games installed on your console's internal storage or format your external storage to clear it of any corrupt data.

    To format your external hard drive:

    - Go to Settings > System > Storage devices.
    - Select your external storage unit.
    - Press "A" on it.
    - Select "Format"

    * Should you receive an error during the format process, I'd suggest plugging your external storage into a computer and formatting it again.

    - Try installing these games again.

    You have enough space to download onto as the cod files are massive ?

    Are you using internal or external drive or a mix?

    Yes, I do have enough space. The message that pops up is also not the typical, "clear up some space" message.

    I am using my xb1's internal drive.
