The "I got my Destiny early" Thread

Got my shipment confirmation yesterday. Might arrive tomorrow!

 

Amazon have dispatched mine today

 

Both of my copies were despatched by shopto on Saturday

 

Seems that many people in this thread live in UK. Do you have any info about the Digital version of Destiny? I hear that you can play the game as soon as it hits midnight in your country but I have also seen people post things that point to that it must
be midnight in US (PST timezone). That would really screw people residing in Europe over.

 

If Destiny unlocks at midnight UK time Ill be playing then, thats like 7pm EST right?

 

That's what I am wondering about. I live in Sweden and I would really like to play at midnight swedish time.

 

I'm personally glad I didn't fall for any of the "pre-order" tricks, especially the pre-download.

I paid 360 new game price for my ONE copy and it turns out that it came with the Vanguard Armory pack anyways and advertises that there will be an "Expansion Pack" available that contains both major DLC's.

 

Thing is, Digital Download was the only way for me to play Destiny at/close to launch. I live 60-70 kilometers from the nearest store (Game/GameStop) and they are not even having a midnight launch. If I would like to get the physical copy of the game, I
would have to drive atleast 100 kilometers to a store.

 

^^Does the mail not deliver to your remote section of the universe?

 

Mail? I am not sure that Amazon operates in Sweden :d.

 

As i understand it the servers go live around midnight in New Zealand/Austarailia,which would be midday today in the U.K.,so that would be about 6am-4am in the U.S. (1pm in Sweden).

Not 100% sure that's how the're doing it but that's the impression i got from what i've read.

 

Well that's pretty crappy.

Apparently there is a company currently "squatting" on the domain name www.amazon with a .se at the end and so Amazon aren't technically operating there.

It is apparently possible to order from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk and get them to actually deliver to Sweden.

However while I might be fortunate because I saved a few dollars at the end of the day this is a "must have game" that looks like it should let you get your money's worth and more over the long run.

 

Mine was sent off last Thursday, hoping it got here today so I could just install it and have it prepped and ready to go.. But alas it it didn't arrive. Hopefully it turns up tomorrow also gotta pick up my 360 edition from the shop tomorrow and go to
a meeting and then catch a bus ride home. Hopefully the xbox one edition that's coming in the mail has arrived and waiting by the time I get home. If not ill be playing the Xbox 360.

 

I read somewhere that you can change the region on your console to New Zealand and play earlier. Is that true?

 

I read the same thing, it would appear not to be true im afraid
