You can see I have a lot of resentment to this 'Locke' character, haha. Nah it is pretty amazing the length they're going to with the podcasts and 'find the truth' etc.

Please understand that it isn't my intent to be mean / rude to you, but Halo 5 Guardians is already focused on the Master Chief.

So basically, you want something like this to happend...

(1) Halo 5: Guardians --> 2015 (Master Chief is the main character)

(2) Halo: Rise Of The Master Chief --> 2016 (Master Chief is the main character)

(3) Halo 6 --> 2018 (Master Chief is the main character)

(4) Non-Master Chief Halo Spin-Off game --> 2019

I will completely abandon the Halo franchise if this actually happends because while I agree that the Master Chief is Halo, not every single Halo game needs him to be the center of attention.

Please don't get mad / angry at me for saying this...

Um, okay, @Lei, but I think you probably took what I was saying a little too far. I can't say the list you described is what I want to happen. You know, I loved Reach. It's probably my favorite Halo game. I was just saying what I'd like for a spin-off title.
I know that Halo 5 will have Master Chief, and I guess you're saying that me wanting flashback missions of the sort I described is... excessive?

 

Whoa, No Lei. My resentment is regarding Spartan Locke. And I believe that ks what Digital Assassin was referring to as well.

 

Hmmm my least favorite Halo games just happen to be the "spin-offs", ODST was kinda boring and Reach was cheesy. They were still good, just not on par with the "main games" if you get what i mean.

 

Halo 3 was so stale. They were just rehashing what they had already done before, with some minor new features. (Besides Forge, but Halo 2 PC, which I believe came out before Halo 3, had an actual map-maker, not just a map editor) That being said, it was/is
still a pretty good game. Besides those awful Cortana and Gravemind moments THAT YOU CAN'T SKIP.

Man you are killing me with this Cortana bashing. You act like she was Jar Jar Binks. She is amazing. Halo 3 was solid, 4 is my personal favorite. I love them all but I would go, 4, 2, 3, 1. Spin offs I would go Halo Wars, Reach, ODST

The point that I was trying to make (and did so poorly in the process, sorry) is that Halo games don't come out every single year like Call Of Duty.

So focusing too much on the Master Chief will limit the growth of the Halo universe.

Call Of Duty games can make lots of devialtions because it comes out every single year.

Halo doesn't have that flexibility, so that the Halo games that are released need to be impactful.

Ah okay. Yeah, I don't want some ONI robot thinking he has all of the facts. Trying to hunt down a world, and galactic (not to mention brand) savior.

I am sure he will learn the truth, but will it be to late? I can not wait for Halo 5

 

Uh, Lei, not sure if you heard about 343i's release policy, but they stated a while back that they will indeed be releasing a Halo title every year. At least, that's what I heard.

 

No no no no no no no. Absolutely not. Halo is not Call of Duty, it does not need to be released every year. God I hope you are mistaken.

 

I'm pretty sure I'm not. But, a Halo title wouldn't necessarily be a full-blown shooter or RTS game. Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike are both valid Halo titles, but not in the same league as, say, Reach, or Halo 5.

 

I see that point for sure. But god, we really don't need to over saturate the market with all of these Halo titles. *Sigh*. I like it when games allow us to miss and want them. Games like Splinter Cell, Hitman, Fable, and so on. Releasing a game once
a year is awful.

Perhaps 343i will do it justice and right.
