The GT I want is in use by one of my old accounts and I can't remember its information

As the title says, I have a gamertag that I use for every online service except Xbox Live, and that drives me nuts. I've been looking into changing my gamertag to the one I want for years, but during the Halo 3 days I stupidly made a one-off account
with the tag I wanted. Now, 7 years later, I have literally no idea what the information for that account is.

I contacted support a few years ago about this issue, and they said that GTs were being recycled and that I should just wait until mine is recycled. Here we are, a few years later, and alas the tag I want still has not been recycled.

The other day I contacted support again and told them my issue, and they basically said "Deal with it". This seems kind of ridiculous to me. I've seen threads on here about people wanting GTs of other accounts that have been inactive for a long time, but
this is my own old account. I wish I could provide some information on the account to prove it's mine, but like I said, it was a one-off account that I might've used a fake/bogus email for, so I have no idea what the email could be.

Am I really SOL for the time being? I've already waited a few years to get this tag, and at this point it looks like I'll never get it.

Why is it so hard (nearly impossible) to change the E-mail linked to a gamertag?

When i created my xbox live account i accidentally did it with an outlook.com mail. I want to change the e-mail address to my hotmail account, but that one also has an xbox live gamertag assigned. You can't erase a GT just like that, even though you created
it and you're never gonna use it again, So what i need to do is:

1.- Move the Gamertag from my Hotmail account to another one to leave it "empty"

2.- Move My gamertag from the accidentally created outlook account to MY hotmail account.

So far that's ok, i understand why, but then the process of moving a GT is freacking impossible! Supposedly, it was only "doable" from an xbox 360, and so i plugged my old console, finally managed to find the option, and now it says it can't be done and
throws an error code (which i don't remember right now), but then you google the code and there's no solution. WHAT CAN I DO MICROSOFT? ALL I WANT IS TO HAVE MY GT ATTACHED TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS I ALWAYS USE AND GET RID OF THE ONE I DON'T.

 

Changing and removing gamertag.

When I started out on Xbox LIVE I had a gamertag, lets call it "GT A". After a while I got a new account, for reasons I cannot remember, which is the GT I use now.

I would like to use GT A on the account I have now. Is there anyway to remove the old account, so I can change the new account's GT to that of the old account?

I remember the credentials, but I believe two gamertags might be somehow linked to the one WLID (introducing a third GT, which was accidentally created when I was trying to log into the old account).

Unfortunately unless you remember any of the account's information, there really isn't anything you can do. If you could remember enough to verify that you are the owner of the account, support can get you the email address and you can reset the password.
But it sounds like you've already contacted them and were not able to provide enough information.

About the gamertag recycling, Microsoft only released gamertags that had been created on the original Xbox and had never been converted for use on the 360. Other than that time, they do not release inactive tags.

 

The frustrating thing is, I obviously have the tag. If I could try to log in with it somewhere and go through recovery, I might be able to find it. But you can only log in with your Microsoft account now, and (if I'm remembering correctly) you used to be
able to sign in with just your tag and password. I probably know the password on the account, but I can't test it anywhere since I don't know the email - just the tag.
