The game was restarted due to a problem with the storage device please help

You could try reinstalling the game on the hard drive. I'd suggest transferring your save files to the cloud (if you have Xbox Live Gold), if you haven't already done so.

If that does not work, the hard drive has likely died, and you will need to replace it.

Hey, same problem, maybe slightly different in that I haven't really played the story mode.... went straight into online ( same problems as everyone starting there )

Been playing the game since about day 3 on and off, but over the last week, I've played it daily and now this freezing / restarting issue like everyone here.

I have noticed ( for me anyway ) there's always a graphic rendering issue before mine pops its clogs.... struggles to render buildings, roads etc...then a few minutes later....wham....freezes / restarts.

Personally I have a sneaking suspicion that this game maybe just too much for my ( 250gb new ) xbox processors or whatever generates the graphics.... I've also noticed my xbox struggles to restart to dashboard after it's been switched off which lead me to
clear cache anyway.... still the same issue.

Maybe bad coding, I dont know... I do know its only happened since I ran GTA V and all other titles are fine... this does seem to be hitting quite a few of us.

I'm gonna wait to pass judgement, but if this is another problem due to a game being released without adequate testing then I'm afraid I will have to pass on such companies future titles.... if its another xbox hardware related issue ( I still have a bad
twitch over two red ringed xboxes ) Then this too will end my lifetime alliance with Microsofts console.

I wont be missed by either, but my hair will stay in my head getting my gaming thrills elsewhere and without swearing incoherently at my blank screen.

Just remember though...my kids will be future gamers too, and are clever enough to take good advice.

Guys, if reinstalling the game in any of the ways written here haven't solved the problem, then I'm 100% sure is due to a defective disc. Check both of your discs and if you find a scratch, return your copy and get a new one, or try what I posted before.
I've been playing for several days without any issue.

I am so ticked off at this game. Tried the install parts 1-2 to USB stick trick that many folks said worked. Started the first mission and played for only about 5 minutes when I got the dreaded restart yet again. I'm going to try exchanging my disk tomorrow
as a last resort. This is so ridiculous!

I found a scratch on my disc 2 (Play disc). It looks like is scratched inside the dis, is hard to explain but is obviously a factory issue. I'll try to get my money back since I bought it in the USA but I'm living in Belgium, this really sucks :/
