The future of xbox console gaming with e3 on the way ....

With all of the leaks that are just out there on the net we know both Sony and Microsoft systems will continue to use custom PC components to help make developing games seamless and they will continue to deliver high end performance from these systems at
a budget price. Now at the same time we are beginning to see the resurgence of cloud gaming with Stadia from Google. Cloud gaming has been around for a while and was said to be where gaming on all platforms (including mobile) was said to be headed, but no
company has been able to successfully sell the tech to mainstream consumers.

With all of that said in mind, will the upcoming generation of console be the last physical systems we play on if Stadia takes off and the rest of the industry follows? I can see that as a possibility or I predict we might see consoles that are more modular
in terms of upgrades. What are your thoughts about this?

I think Xbox will create a hybrid solution. We have to take into consideration backward compatibility and the thousands of dollars gamers put into existing consoles and games. It would be awesome if there were a way to apply older games as a digital
download with an existing disc and if it could register to one xbox live account.

I don't think a digital only future is viable with consoles. At least in the current state of worldwide internet. Stadia from Google for example requires a minimum of something like 20MB per-second. A lot of homes, especially across Europe can barely get
8MB per-second. Especially with the price point of internet plans. Until the western world is on par with Korean internet speeds, we'll always have a physical aspect included.

I think the next consoles will be really powerful and streaming will be big but to many people prefer discs still. I think xbox might surprise us with a vr announcement as microsoft are helping Sony with the cloud and Sony might help with vr.
