    The future for Zoo Tycoon?


    Zoo Tycoon (the original) has been my favorite game since the beta version before its original launch in 2001, and I'm glad to see the franchise has come back with a reboot. I'm not happy, however, that Microsoft just seemed to ditch it. We got a fantastically-designed
    Zoo Tycoon with modern, high resolution graphics, but I don't understand why Microsoft won't seize the potential to expand the game in the way of the previous versions. Better animal variety and expansion packs would have made it much better. The original
    two had more than 100 animals to choose from (including expansions) while the xbox version has very little diversity. I would be happy with only one chimpanzee subspecies if it meant gorillas and orangutans instead of five different varieties of the same species
    (or genus in the case of the bonobo). It would be much better with a greater diversity with kangaroos, bison, zebras, ostriches, or okapis, instead of nine subspecies of giraffe, when one is enough.

    The game would also have been better if released on PC. The format of the game lends itself very well to having a keyboard and mouse configuration. It was rather nicely converted to the controls of an Xbox however it was missing a lot without the freedom
    or versatility (not to mention accessibility) of a PC as were the original games.

    It would also be a great opportunity to see a revival of Marine Mania and Dinosaur Digs expansion packs, but the original needs a lot to live up to not only the potential it has, but the other games in the franchise.

    Improvements to Zoo Tycoon

    1. Add DAY AND NIGHT CYCLES (I've played Zoo Tycoon 2 PC version, it would be super fun having a night life in Zoo Tycoon. In real-world, certain zoo's have after hours animal enclosure activities like Auckland Zoo and Taronga Zoo Sydney Australia). 2. Increase
