Our understanding here is that the control/remote attempting to be used on the Xbox One is the Talon Media Remote, but the console is not recognizing your TV or it's model type.

Is this only occurring when connecting with the Talon Media Remote?

Has there been use of other media remotes with the console?

Has this been attempted with a different television?

Clarify this for us and we'll be here to assist with further with this issue.

Sorry i did mean the xbox media remote. This is a strange one, I will see if i can find anything further about the issue.

I'd also recommend the Xbox One media remote as a further possible solution: I've been using it for a while now and while it's a really useful addition especially for when watching media/dvds on the xbox and not wanting to use a controller

I've had the Media Remote for a few years now, so I had to think back, but I had the same issue when I first bought mine! Back in those days, the choices in the system settings were either "Xbox 360 Media Remote" or "Windows Media Center Remote" and for
Gord only knows what reason, MS defaulted that setting to "Windows Media Center Remote"! As soon as I changed it to the "Xbox 360 Media Remote" setting, it worked! Still not sure why MS insists on defaulting it to the WRONG setting, though. That's always
struck me as odd and illogical. :-/
