    this begs the question of how did chiefs armor get upgraded while he was in cryo? the only other "person" on the ship was cortana, and i do believe that she isn't able to perform the suit upgrades.

    In Halo Evolutions it is mentioned that Spartan III soldiers had access to the newest (prototype) equipement. Maybe that explains why Noble Team is better equipped than Masterchief.
