The Evil Within

There were a couple jump scares. The game is pretty creepy even when nothing is happening. Very tence.

I actually really liked chapters 1-5 a lot,it built the story and setting up pretty well. Also the asylum was a great place.

 

I've tried it on the Xbox 360 a long time ago and it wasn't for me. I tried to play it, but it's just too violent and atrocious, Resident Evil & Silent Hill are much better.

Once you've played "The Evil Within" you want to check out "Alien: Isolation".

If you've got Kinect and some Turtle Beaches you're in for the ultimate Survival Horror.

Better that you'll have played "The Evil Within" first so it doesn't dissapoint you for not being as good.

 

I think I'm gonna play Alien soon. My gf has that game and I've played a little for her. I loved it.

As for Evil, who knows when I'll get back into it. So many other games to play! Any other decent survival/horror games on the One?

 

Alien isolation is really good. Is actually preferred to the evil within. I won't spoil anything but the end is kinda lame.

 

@Azrael008uk - I've played Alien: Isolation not long after it's release date and I wasn't very impressed with it. It had great graphics and a creepy atmosphere, however I found it to take a little too long to get to the point of the game (where you hid/run
from the alien).. so I kind of put this game on the back burner, I still may go back to it sometime though.

I am still really enjoying The Evil Within. Taking my time with it. I don't like to beat a game in a day or two.. so I try to spread it out as long as possible.

 

I bought this game through Steam but I haven't played it yet. I'm sure I'll get to it one day.

 

The Executioner is now available! I can't wait to get home to play it, it looks pretty awesome!

 

Nice idea to let you play as one of the more annoying characters in the game AND you get to upgrade yoru weapons.

 

The game wasn't what I was expecting. I thought the game was going to be about protecting yourself with traps or something. I had no idea there would be guns. I'm glad it is what it is though, because I really enjoyed it. I currently have 109 hours and 43mins
total playtime. Also, if they allowed you to change difficulty on new game +, it would be way too easy to complete akumu mode.

The Executioner dlc is good, but the first kidman dlc is really boring imo. I haven't started the second one because I can't even get myself to finish the first one, but I'll get to it sometime for the achievements.

 

I was looking forward to this game, but the more footage I saw of it the more it reminded me of the Resident Evil games and I'm not a big fan of those games.

 

I used to like Resident Evil, but lately it's been pretty bad. RE4 is overrated, RE5 & 6 were nothing but blatant Gears of War clones, Raccoon City was awful. BTW The Evil Within is actually made by this guy behind Resident Evil.

 

It might be made by the same guy, but it's nothing like Resident Evil imo.

The Executioner was awesome by the way, not only do you get to be the equivalent of a big daddy, it relates to the main story and pretty much confirms the ending of the main game.

The last executioner chamber is SO hard, I had to give up last night because it was so gruelling. I actually don't know if I'm going to be able to complete it.

 

wish they would make a good survival horror game this isn't it.
