The Evil Within discussion

Hello everyone

Based on the post that I've read about this game (The Evil Within), I am going to take a guess that it isn't in the same vein as Resident Evil (1, 2, 3 Nemesis & Code Veronica) and Silent Hill (1, 2, and 3). Am I correct in this assumption?

it looks more like Outlast than RE, but still looks pretty good. I miss the early years of RE. I love the horror genre, but I want a good story and a subtlety to the horror. I'm growing a bit weary of slaughter house backdrops.

After all I've read and watched, I've decided to wait for a big price drop. I can't play 2 survival horror games back to back as I'm playing Alien Isolation at the moment.

A buddy of mine completed the game on Survival difficulty.

This unlocks Akumu difficulty and it also gives you a Machine Gun and a Rocket Launcher to go and have a New Game Plus on, in either Casual or Survivor.

Perhaps you'll get unlimited ammo after Akumu?

Hello "BizarroMantis"

I'm not really into the whole " totally defenseless mouse vs cat " theme when it comes to my choice in Survival Horror games. Maybe (like Alien Isolation), I will pick it up when it hits the Xbox 360 bargain bin.

I'm starting my 3rd playthrough now. Definitely a fun game. Maybe they'll add infinite ammo in an update

I'm up to chapter 7 on survivor and I have to say that I'm loving this game! At first the top and bottom borders threw me, I hated that it was kind of slow to get into and I didn't feel like I had full control of the character till chapter 3, but now that
I've settled in, it's brilliant.

It's weird though because this game is far more intriguing, than scary to me. I mean there is some tense moments where you don't know how you will survive a certain situation, but that's the only thing that's really been scary. I don't want to push on for
fear of a huge monster owning me, haha.

Overall though, I'm really glad I decided to get this, I haven't played since Friday and I'm just itching to get back in!

Hey, also, can I encourage everyone here to jump on during Halloween and pop off a few headshots for the challenge? I know I will be adding some to the overall tally and I think it's a cool challenge as it involved everyone!

For console versions of The Evil Within, there are two versions available in Europe:

- The general European release has French, Italian, German, and Spanish audio and subtitles.

- There is also a version available in the UK that has English audio and Russian subtitles.

Alors si tu est en France la jeu sure la telecharger est en francsais, mais si tu est en Angleterre la je sur la telechargeur est en anglais et en russe.

I am happy to hear that. I was looking forward to it for so long, and the it reminds me a lot of amnesia, the dark descent. One of my favorite horror games

Don't you keep your powerups in the New Game Plus?

It's not as good a Survival Horror as "Alien: Isolation" but it's a different type of game. In the "Resident Evil" style and it does give the player a fighting chance.

I wasn't sure about this at first but it's a good game in the end. You spend the first part of the game finding things to complain about and by Chapter 3 you're enjoying yourself and starting to settle down.

I joined a friend's party today when another of his friends was playing The Evil Within. That kid went on non-stop about all of the different ways you could be beheaded in that game. It made me sick to my stomach just hearing about it!

This game is good. It does have its so called game Bugs but not in the sense you may think, limited ammo really sucks in this game and you cannot punch your way out of this horror movie but I do try to punch my way back home however, there are twist upon
twist at every corner I or you will walk down to an overwhelming reality of insanity.

With all this said, one big issue I do not like is the look stick because every time I jump I have this uncontrollable thumb pushing down on the look button which brings up the inventory screen all the time, bad thumb I say, stop doing this you are making
me die too many times LOL

I only can play in short spurts because the frustration level this game gives me brings me to my brink of saying F-It where I like to reach into the screen on my TV set and hand strangle all those evil creatures my self. However, I know I cannot do this
therefore I play in spurts in hopes I wont through my controller into my TV set screen.

Is this game worth the replay value I think so, I also think it is worth the money to buy this game if horror is your thingy. I even think Stephen King would be jolted from his chair if he ever played this game this is how good this game really is. You all
have fun playing the game, enjoy all the bumps in those hallways, and try not to die too often you may miss your own death.
