@Jaspertodd I basically only play Killer Instinct with a little Dead Rising 3 when I get the space too so that's hardly all the games on X1...
There is only a “drought" if you can't find enjoyment in the games you like. That's more a fault with yourself than the games on the shelves.
I'm sorry but that makes absolutely no sense. I mean think about that for a second.

I agree with Jaspertodd. I think there was a drought. Forza had enough content to last about 2 weeks before it got boring. DR3 was ok for a playthrough. Ryse was good for about 6 hours with no replay value. KI 3 is good. Sports games are copy and paste games
especially Madden.

Maybe if they had demos for all the games on the marketplace I would have bought them.

I know it's only the launch and I have been through many launches before, but it really started to feel like there was nothing to play. There is nothing wrong with that. I've been gaming long enough to know what types of games I like. It's ok if people thought
there was a drought. I don't see how it upsets people. smh

If you can't find enjoyment, it means you don't like the games.

What Burst said makes no sense, I completely agree. But a drought exists in the minds of those who refuse to play something besides what they really like. I never played an AC game, before Black Flag and I enjoy it. Swore of COD awhile back but picked up
Ghosts and have tons of fun with friends, even though I am terrible. You said in a different thread you picked up Max, and it was a pleasant surprise. So clearly you could find enjoyment in a game when you didnt think you would, you are just hesitant to branch
out.

The drought is over....!

If you look at the quality of the games we definitely have a drought. I'll play about anything and I'm struggling through games just to justify spending the money on the console.

When people in these forums take off their rose colored glasses a year from now and look back the launch titles they'll see we had two above average games ( DR3 and AC4 ) the rest are mediocre to just plain bad.

Many of the people that are claiming there isn't a drought are simply playing average to bad games and simply don't know any better. I clicked on several gamer cards and there are people here who never played Bioshock, Deadspace, GoW (SP campaign), etc Why
you would be playing the current One games when you haven't played those titles is a whole different discussion but if you haven't played those titles then I could see how you be very happy with the One's offerings.

I think in many cases it's based on your gaming background. When you have something to compare all the launch titles to then you may very well perceive a drought.

Well in my desperation to find something to play I bought Max Curse of the Brotherhood and it's actually pretty good. It's not a bad price either.

It makes perfect sense. We have games that have NO ENDING. There is no ending to fighting people in Killer Instinct with Chief Thunder or whomever you like. There is no ending to playing MP on CoD. There is no ending to racing online on Forza. There is no
ending to Ryse MP. Games end when you stop playing them. If you have a short attention span then the fault lies with you.

-

Even if they do have an ending that doesn't mean you can't replay them. I've been playing Wild Arms 2 almost once a year since 98 or 99. Think about that for a second.

-

Now if you “don't like" the games then why would you buy a console before it has games you like? That makes absolutely no sense.

-

FYI I'm not upset about anything.

-

@Randver Yes. You are the final judge on what games people must take interest in lmao.

The drought is over....!

Burst Axe has a good point, I for one am very entertained by Ryse MP. I loved the SP, but it was quite short. Im currently playing it through on Legendary and finding that it does seem to have at least that much replay value. When you know the basics (and
know the story), you have a chance on focus on new things that you (or at least I didnt/couldnt) didn't on the first time around, then also you are starting to have almost every execution and other upgrades for your second playthrough which makes the game
more interesting on the early parts of the story too.

.

And I'm just the kinda guy who would likely play Ryse MP for 15 mins maybe a few times a week for potentially years if there would be players on the MP for that long. Slaughtering those barbarians doesn't get old (or in long sessions it does, but when you
pick it up in a few days again it's still just as fun for that limited time). That said, I will likely try to sell Ryse so that I can afford more actually new games for myself. But I have a feeling that unless Ryse gets a sequel, I'll likely pick up the game
again when it's pretty much found in every discount basket The drought is over....! :p

.

But I don't expect everyone to be as entertained by Ryse, we're all different. I guess that some kind of gaming personalities/habits might end up feeling like having lack of games, but I think there's tons to play at the moment even with the current situation.

People with short attention spans are why we have the games with "no ending". MP is getting tacked on to just about every game now just to give the game some longevity.

There are still some of us that would prefer games get their longevity from the story, gameplay and depth rather than mindless repetition.

I realy hate when people say there's no drought. I'm sorry but for alot of folks there is, I myself don't enjoy race car games, sports games, kinect games, so that leaves me with DeadR3 Cod, And Ryse. I'm not gonna go waste money on Battlefield, Tomb Raider
remakes I already have on my 360. I'm not complaining at all but dont tell peeps theres plenty to play just cause u dont mind playing every game that is out there 4 xbox1 doesn't mean everyone does.

I myself am still enjoying my 360. So I honestly don't care how many games there is on the 1.
So if still enjoying the 360 why moan about a drought. And yes you are complaining.

@Randver Ummmm... I count 3 games available on Xbox One with decent length SP campaigns without factoring in MP.

-

How would you discover a games depth without so called “mindless repetition"? What they say on load screens? “Switching to your side arm is faster than reloading your primary weapon"<<<<<<<<<< Depth!

-

I'm not even gonna address “the MP is tacked" on bit because you seem to be under the impression that games just recently started having no ending. How long have you been gaming again?

The drought is over....!

Just started Lego Movie. What a great game!

-

The X1 releases did not really interest me. DR3.... great game. Ghosts is what it is. As for the sports games I have tried them and they just don't interest me... as with racing games. I knew exactly what was available when I bought my X1.

-

I bought the X1 for it's media purpose, as I am looking at dropping my $200/month cable bill. Gaming was not the main reason for my X1 purchase, but played a role.

I'm not sure what 3 games you're referring to and the second statement I have no idea what it even means.....switching to your side arm is faster than reloading is depth?

No ending? Every game with a story has an ending, MP has nothing to do with that and never has.

I come from a generation of gamers ( PC in the 80's ) with hundred plus page manuals and games that took a dozen hours of playtime before you've even fully understood the full scope of the game. So my definition of depth is apparently much different than yours.
