It looks like Geek is seeking a promotion XD, or just letting others know this info. XBL is filled with peps from different backgrounds countries and age groups. There are links to that sort of info at the bottom of every page on this site. So you get your
Rep now looked by a 'sound' enforcement person. Usually it's the complaints. It's good to get it looked by a 'sound' human than just the Rep system entirely relied and left to a heartless (lacks human qualities like emotion) computer system.

I actually don't read all that stuff word for word too. Who does? (This is a rhetorical question G) I may read some of it but get the "gist" of it. People my age and older consider me to be really polite. But I don't want to be too a Perfectionist. Simply
put have fun, and have a conscience. And don't throw a big tantrum when someone quits or kills you in a game. I sometimes throw little tantrums but don't let that interfere with following "the gist" of how M runs Xbox.

    :)

This should clear things up a bit on the images. Source link from Dragon Claw69

    Link

    In order to clear up some of the uncertainty regarding the ability to post images/video in your signature and threads please read the following;

    Is this Change Permanent?

In short, no. When the forum roll out has been completed the ability to post image and video sigs on the forums will be reserved for the moderators and admins. This is what DMZilla, the community coordinator, has provided by way of clarification.

[/quote]A\ctually there's a loophole in that thread. Nowhere in that thread does it state that we can not currently use image signatures. Edited signatures keep popping up saying [you know these aren't allowed] ect... and I'll go onto my next point. When
the forums were at 100%, image support was supposed to be restricted to mods/mvps/admins and it hasn't yet; which would mean the forums aren't at 100%.

It also doesn't help that we were told in the beta forums that we were allowed to use them until they were restricted.

I've never read the CoC once... at the very best, just skimmed it quickly. I've never been banned or suspended and never had my rep drop to a point where I felt I should be concerned.
In fact, I have likely checked it less than a dozen times the entire (9, I think) years I've been on XBL. Anytime I have it's always been good [enough].

The truth of the matter is, 90% of the 'rules' are common sense and common courtesy. Something that seems to be sorely lacking in today's society and even more so when it involves
the anonymity of the internet. That policy is in place simply as a way for MS to 'CMA' from the absolute idiots that have no common courtesy or moral compass. If it weren't for them, that policy would be much, much shorter, if it were even necessary. Sad but
true. And the saddest truth of the matter is those who need to read it the most won't bother and even if they tried, you'd likely lose them at "be polite".

Hello "bstn617" The Do's and Don'ts of Xbox Live :)

I wouldn't suggest debating it. Otherwise your post could end up looking like his, taking up half most or all of a forum page. I do find some of your posts funny. I mean no offense to G.

Have a nice day, afternoon or night The Do's and Don'ts of Xbox Live :)

@GG....I know your heart is in the right place when you post stuff like this and probably you have the best intentions of most on these forums, but this has backlash from other posters written all over it.

  7. I've already noticed, mgzin - Akame's personal attack/response is proof enough of that, but I'm not going to let that deter me. In retrospect, I could have ommited or rephrased a few things such as "to spell it out for them." It does come off as kind of
arrogant and for that I apologize. ><

I do agree that a lot of it is common sense by the way, but it seems to me that if that's the case, then there are a lot of people who seem to lack common sense (or simply don't seem to care, which seems to more than likely be the bigger issue here). When
online it seems people simply forget that manners do, in fact, still exist...

Wow, a personal attack against you GG? Who is to say I wasnt speaking about Ztrooper? Or my good buddy bstn? And in regards to the PM you sent Fyerball, you have no idea the messages I have gotten from people regarding you. I was just merely pointing out
that some folks act high and mighty but they break rules too.

  9. Your PMs towards me are proof enough that it was personal, Akame.

Know this though - if anyone here has issues with how I prefer to deal with things, then by all means, feel free to PM me about it - I would like to hear about it. It is better to get it all out in the open from one person to another and thus understand
each other than it is to make judgements about each other and to continuously bicker endlessly. I will say no more regarding this particular matter here.

  10. I miss the 360 days where you could classify yourself as "underground" if you were a dirty player. Now it seems as though Microsoft wants to eliminate all dirty behavior. Kind of takes the fun out of it if you ask me.

  12. The problem with 'classifying' oneself in the 360 days was that it was an absolutely worthless classification. It had zero bearing on anything. It didn't affect mm, there was no way to avoid certain 'classes'... it did nothing but allow people to 'make a
statement' about what kind of gamer they are. I don't need to look up someone's 'badge' to see if they're a dirty gamer or not, all I have to do is play a game with them.

Ok, how about making a thread about the CoC that we all had to agree to before we could even post on this site. You think you need to remind people about the code because they forgot. That is making a judgment call right there and you seem to have no problem
    with it.

  14. -EXAMPLE:

All they want to do is go swimming, so they dive right in and have nobody else to blame but themselves once they injure themselves because they neglected to read the "no diving" sign.

I protest! I stayed in a hotel in Bournemouth that had a lovely indoor pool. I nearly carved my chest diving in at the deepest end, which turned out to be only 5.6 ft deep. I am a 6ft 2 man, so naturally, that gave me a scare. I thought myself extremely
lucky to come out of that with only minor injury. My next thought was, shouldn't there be a 'No diving' sign? The angle of the walkway and glare from the ceiling makes it impossible to tell how deep it is at first glance. Oh there is the 'No diving' sign!
It's behind me! So let me get this straight, in order to see the no diving warning you need to come out of the change rooms, and completely turn around before jumping in? Lunacy.

  15. Fyerball, agreeing is different from understanding or caring. People sign off on things all of the time without actually reading them. Bstn's initial post alone is proof of that, so yes, an occasional reminder from me I think is fine. If you're already familiar
with the rules of the CoC, then great - be my guest and ignore this thread entirely. And sure, there may be a lot of people who still choose not to read it and that will continue with their misbehavior, but there will still also be a few who will read it,
and as such those are the ones who will have a better understanding of it as a result.

ABI makes an excellent point regarding the classification system. I think it would be a good idea to have, but I believe it would only work if we were "assigned" the roles based on our behavior over time rather than us choosing it.

Fatal makes an interesting point too, although I'm not entirely certain of his stance (feel free to clarify Fatal). I interpret it, however, that he believes it should be more easily seen or out in the open such as my reminder here rather than being tucked
away where most people can't find it or care to look (like at the very bottom of this site in very small text).

I don't recall who, but someone earlier also mentioned that MS only made the Code of Conduct to cover their backside. I have to actually partially agree with this. It's not the ONLY reason, but yes, that's one reason why they made it. You have to ask yourself
though - what company wouldn't come up with a legal document or structure that helps explain to people and help them understand how their services work and should be used? This is why we have codes of conduct, terms of use, warranties, etc. It wouldn't work
otherwise. It all serves as a foundation for that company, product, and/or service as well as to the consumers. If these didn't exist, then people could do whatever they want at the detriment to others, including the company, product, and/or service and its
consumers. And although these inherent business foundations don't necessarily stop corrupt individuals entirely (as I said earlier, no system is perfect), they do help curb it and give those who would follow said structure some peace of mind, which in turn,
makes for a better and more reliable service. In this regard, I think MS does just fine.
