Yes and yes.

I've only played a few hours so far and from what I've seen all campaign missions can be played with other people.

Either with friends or through matchmaking

 

It is a very fun game. Personally, I do not think there are enough "Story" missions but the amounts of Encounters, Side Missions, and general wandering keep me entertained for hours. Glad I picked up a copy.

 

yes if you like games like destiny, and yes you can play all missions with friends

Can you play it solo including side missions and just wandering around without being bothered by other people?

 

@brandiesel1 not sure but I think yes. Not far into the game and so far I have only encountered others in the safe houses.

 

Cool is there a lot to explore? Are there a lot of things to pick up and collect?

 

There are a total of 293 pieces of Intel throughout the city of Manhattan. Cell phones, laptops, echo beacons, etc. takes quite awhile to collect them all!

 

Its fantastic. I had no interest in The Division, but on a whim I picked it up release day. Ive barely played anything else since! You see other agents when youre in a safe house, but unless youre playing in a group you wont see them outside of it. You can
play through each mission by yourself or with friends (Invited personally, or matchmade randoms).

 

I love it and with friends it's extremely fun. Definitely my game of the year so far.
