The Division, What we know so far, and going on into the future.....

I could run a higher gear score as i have a couple 214 items i am not wearing. They just cripple me to much because of bad perks and the lack of talents. I am happy to sit at a lower gear score till i can find or craft gear that doesn't hurt my build.
The group of people i run with tend to take things slower so we aren't to worried about the new 240 level just yet.

Have they announced when the next dlc drops? I know its sometime in may, but i really haven't payed attention to it.

I so very nearly traded this in over the weekend!

I think the game has become a bit of a boring mess and because of this I've hit a brick wall with fairly average gear. I'm running at 189.

So what's wrong? Falcon Lost is ridiculous. Although I've completed it on hard, challenge is impossible but that's where the 240 gear is and there lies the problem. The next Incursion is going to be 220+ gear set...but you can't get the gear score you need
without completing FL on challenging!!!

The DZ is a mess and it needs a huge revamp. I remember reading a developer comment about the Supply Drops being 'all that' ... all what exactly?! I've had one gear set item out of umpteen drops. Yay the named bosses drop high end gear, boo its usually a
mod of some sorts! Groups of 8 rogues running around together creating mayhem is great too.

The rinse and repeat of levels for daily Pheonix Credits is becoming tedious too and I know I don't have to do them.

So what's left to do in The Division other than play in the DZ for a couple of hours hoping for a drop which could improve your character? Not a lot really!

 

This game (as I've said in the past) is basically Destiny. Once you get to the point in these type of games where all you do is grind for better gear, it get's beyond boring.
IMO.

I actually understand why it's hard to max out your gear though. I can't imagine doing anything in the game after that point.

 

you're not wrong, but to me it still seems like The Division is much better than Destiny (this is also my pre-Taken King opinion since i haven't played it since.), while the story of the Division is not great, it at least makes sense and is more entertaining,
the loot system is better just by the instant gratification it provides and not having to "go to town to appraise engrams", and actually having a variety weapons and weapon stats, even the appearance system with the clothing layers is so much better.

for me The Division took almost everything i ended up hating about Destiny and fixed it.

i tried to like Destiny, but my frustration for the game slowly grew every time i run one of those boring missions, every time i wanted to run a raid but didn't have anyone online to play with, or an option for matchmaking, then it shot through the roof
when the first DLC landed and it was complete garbage and took me to the same places i've already been hundreds of times, i stopped playing until the next DLC and i didn't even make it half way through before i just stopped because it was the same and i haven't
touched it since.

i'm still not quite sure what it is about The Division, but they nailed it for me, i put about 130 hours into Destiny and have a lot of hate for the game now, i'm at about 220 hours into The Division and can't wait until i get home to play it some more.

 

i agree with everything

a couple of points, destiny had a hook, there were rewards I wanted behind elements, shaders and ships from factions so bounties had a point, gearing up for the raids.

Dailies missions and activities in the division don't offer anything so whats the point. (can farm the things they offer more efficiently doing other things.

In destiny the raids felt do able and not impossible even when your under levelled, in the division challanging feels impossible, even with a good team. The other point is they are making you gear up in one way to complete it, which is as much stamia as
you can impaging, if you don't have that you going to struggle.

The destiny raid felt complete, the incursion feel short, I think blowing up the npc should be part 1 of 3-4 parts, and no 15 waves.

I would much prefer more shot gunners that don't snipe you at such a long range, than few shot gunners with the power they have.

I like the story in the division, is there a story in destiny?

Levelling and gear where good before the incursion update now its pointless.

The two biggest issues in the division PvE, are there is no hook, everything I need is behind something I am not will to invest time into because it doesn't feel possible (even jumping out of the window and getting to the tunnel is almost impossible without
surviver link and even then you can die, with a gear score of 200 well above the recommended), and there other than that there simply is no point.

The other big thing destiny has in its favor is the PVP, the PvP is by far the only reason people are still playing destiny as much, everyone on my friends list no plays a good amount of pvp, and at the weekend when trials is on it grows significantly, funny
how such a so called pve game is now dominated by pvp.

The bad think about destiny is their business model, the good thing about the division is their business model.

While the division got so much right at launch they have got so much wrong after there update, and I log on now with a sigh and then sign out rather quickly.

And to be honest pve i think warframe is a good compromise to both and its free, especially since the past few updates which have changed things up.

Still waiting for a good pvp game with guns but RL is doing an amazing job not and making me feel old, pressing two buttons at once is harder than you think.

 

sorry the other difference is i felt i could get better with destiny and my ability made a difference, in the division i don't, i feel if i had the gear i could do it and I can't with out, and thats their biggest mistake.

I do the things that allow me to be a better player, in the division IMO thats very very limited at this point, so why play....

 

In my opinion, they're both completely different games, I enjoy them both, but Destiny is more of shooter, whereas this is more of an RPG. This game actually has me interested, a good story, great progression, and an area of that game that no other game
has, the Darkzone, which is amazingly fun with a group of mates (or randoms).

 

ive nearly completed all side quests to the left side of the DZ. yes, intel,side missions,etc. medical is at 90%,80%,90% basically. I'm only level 27. but man, I must say, once you hit the LMB zones, it can be tough lol.

I'm not sure who I find more annoying: LMB or the cleaners.

its also fun to run with higher level folks. sure, the enemies are way above you, but the XP you get levels you quicker. try running the linc tunnel with level 30s. you get enough XP to level twice by the time youre done.

I'm guessing a few of the forum 'Divisioners' may have seen this but I think it's great news and a few of have said this needed to happen before the announcement! The games become a tad stale so level 32-34 enemies in the DZ with 204-240 drops breathes life
back into the fading game. I started to feel like a mouse in a perpetual maze!

Now they can get a shifty on with some actual paid DLC, hopefully with achievements to work at.

Yeah stoked about the latest update, pretty much everything we've all been asking for

Can't wait for the new DZ bracket! Bring on the lvl34 enemies! will be a nice challenge

 

Here is a quick run down for those who are curious:

•1.2 is in testing phase and is intended to be rock solid.

•No exact date on 1.2 - "soon"

•"A lot" of bug fixes dropping in 1.2, including Reckless chest & One is None.

•LOOT: Conceed they have taken the focus away from crafting, but didn't do enough to make the loot drops good enough/easy enough to obtain. Currently improving quality of HE drops.

•1.2: "Be generous" with loot, in terms of source, quality and quantity of loot. They want the loot to be the "main source of upgrade"

•1.2: New DZ bracket, 200ivl+ - provides opportunity to face tougher npcs in DZ, with better rewards. "Much more really good loot" "The best quality of loot possible" "240 gear sets drops, 204 items drop." "Reduced mod drop rates, changed the weights of
other drops, increase chance for weapon drops."

•1.2: All activities receive increased rewards: quality and quantity.

•1.2: Incursions will drop more loot in 1.2 (suggestive)

•1.2: All DZ brackets receive increased loot quantity and quality, in order to allow players progression through DZ to the 200+ bracket through DZ loot.

•1.2: No green or blue division tech in 200+ ONLY YELLOW DIV TECH

•1.2: Only level 32-34 enemies in dz 200+

•1.2: Hinted at improving supply drops "you will fight for the supply drops believe me."

•1.2: "The removal of bullet king and "love for PvE" will return in 1.2" (so looks like they will bring the bosses back maybe!)

•1.2: No nerfs in all the "balancing" only buffs.

•1.2: "Buff weaker stuff, not nerfing strong stuff" - "NO DRASTIC NERFS"

•1.2: Balanced should only affect the very first shot, nothing else.

I do like that they are buffing the weaker weapons, but not nerfing the currently good ones. That should even it out nicely i think Time to start looking into a good LMG haha
